...and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but my PT was excited!
I've been strictly trail running for over a year, no gym and very, very few at home strength workouts.
My plan is to focus on strength of my core, upper body, hamsters and glutes while letting the rest of my lower body get it's strength from climbing mountain trails [when my stupid Achilles wants to go play again]. I doubt I'll survive more than .5-1 mile of warmup on the treadmill but the stair climber appeals to me...
I guess my early morning routine restarts tomorrow morning, even if I'm not actually running. Go me?

My running has seen VAST improvements since I joined the gym and have been doing consistent strength training in the last 4 months. As in, I really don't run as much as I used to because I do so many classes at the gym, but I can go out for a run and bust through it at a pace I wouldn't have imagined when I was doing only running.
I hope you enjoy it- sometimes mixing it up can be mentally refreshing as well. I have noticed an improvement in my running and stamina since doing core/strength work, even if I just get 1x a week in there (I try for at least 2x).
