Please help me dress for a surprise 30th bday - all girls. A limo is picking everyone up and heading out to a restaurant that I'm not familiar with for cocktails and dinner. I usually check in with friends to see what everyone's wearing, but I don't know any of these girls.
It's a Friday nite if that matters.
And it's been a few years since I've seen 30 myself (ahem), if that matters.

Are you familiar with the neighborhood at all? You can't really go wrong with a little black dress. I'd do it with opaque black tights and add color with some cute booties. I'd do something with a full skirt and a fitted jacket and bodice just to be a little more fun. If you are in cold weather, layer it up with a moto(faux or real leather or even twill or wool) jacket, a blanket scarf, and hide some bling under the scarf to be more festive if you end up in a younger trendier place. Wear some blinged out statement earrings or a bangle stack and add a bright clutch for your essentials. You'll look trendy, but not like you're trying and still be warm and comfy.
The top half of the outfit below is what I was thinking of how to fit the blanket scarf in with the outfit, but I like the silhouettes above much better. I think they'd work much better with booites, tights, and eating.

this target dress is really cute, coul easily be dressed up with a fun pair of earrings or a great necklace, or like PP said a moto jacket or blazer. plus i love me some ponte knit for ease of wear.
