My husband dropped my car off for an oil change and small repair to my remote, then walked to work. The dealership called him just before 2:00 to tell him the car was ready. He went in after 5:00 and found the car running in the parking lot. It had been idling all afternoon.
The dealership kind of just said "Oh well." I'm annoyed enough to call tomorrow to complain, but I'm not sure if I should ask for anything or even expect anything from them. WWYD?

They should replace the gas.
I spent over an hour at the dealership yesterday having them check my tire for leaks because the tire was losing air after and oil change ( and a tire pressure check) the day before. Turns out the tire was losing all that air because of the missing valve cap that I noticed after my warning light told me the tire was losing air. Even though they assured me a missing cap "should not cause that must air to leak" by phone.
I think I'd be annoyed mostly because I find it really weird. They don't care who drives it off the lot? Anyway, I'd definitely ask for them to replace the gas.
We had an issue with a new certified pre owned car we purchased. Son was using it - 250 miles away from us-and said it was not shifting properly. HE brought it to the local dealer by him and they found that the transmission drain wasnt in correctly and the fluid all leaked out. They filled it, put the plug in and said it wasn't covered by the extended warranty. My local dealer took responsibility for it and re-imbursed us for the charge from the other dealer. Fast forward a few weeks. The car is acting up again. He takes it back to the same place as before and now it needs a NEW TRANSMISSION!! The dealer we bought it from took total responsibility. they flatbedded it to their shop, put in the new transmission and delivered it back to where they picked it up! No cost to us.
