In the last 2 weeks I have been asked to pay for the following:
Soccer pictures x2 School pictures x2 Soccer snack x2 Tickets for fall carnival Monetary donation for raffle prize for fall carnival Candy donation for fall carnival Costumes for favorite book character day Money for pumpkin patch field trip.
I feel like I should just open my wallet and say "here, take all my money" because they will anyway.
wow! that's a LOT. I think we will only be able to afford to have 2 kids for sure after reading that. We just bought $38 of school pictures today from preschool.
The things like the tickets and the candy and the field trip are like $5 a pop but when you add in pictures and costumes and feeding 14 children (they have snack on the same day), that shit adds up fast.
I hear it gets worse as they get older and I want to cry.
I hear you. Mine are bleeding me dry and they aren't anywhere near their full potential yet. C now wants to step up to leadership at Taekwondo. That's more per month, more equipment, more tournaments. Cha-Ching.

I feel your pain! We just entered the world of orthodontia and braces yesterday with DD#2. Holy sticker shock. Fingers crossed only 1, not all 3 need full braces.
It's nutso. People always talk about diapers and copays and music lessons but that nickel and dime stuff is what gets you.
The last quarter of the calendar year is always really expensive for us. Car taxes are due early October, both of our vehicles are due for inspection at the end of September, we get quarterly water bills in September and December, our home insurance reboots in December (and we pay for the full year all at once), our Amazon Prime membership renews in December and then there's Christmas, plus my mum and FIL's bdays. By January my checkbook is crying.
Yep. I am not looking forward to it. I figure my daycare bill is good practice, but even then they still manage to have picture orders, offer soccer class during the day, and send home book orders. Good thing I love my kids or I might have traded them in for a cheaper model by now.
I bought $80 worth of nuts from DS's fundraiser. His teacher promised a pizza party and they had the most sales. Kids started bringing their forms back totally full and DS wanted to know why his only had 2 lines filled (thanks grandparents!).

I have a feeling I'm about to do the same with DD's braided butter(?) fundraiser. They want each student to raise $140!!!!!!!!!
