I mean, "Andrew with a capital A" would have probably been clearer than "properly capitalize" but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what rock-n-voll meant.
I work with very smart people who are good writers (and who do a lot of writing), and when I use phrases like "initial caps" and "title case" and "sentence case" I get a lot of (huh) looks. I wouldn't expect people to generally know the names for those conventions.
I'm going with maybe the term "proper" threw them off because in the UK I feel like they say proper so often for many other things. Not saying I would do the same but maybe that's why.
I would have assumed Andrew and would further have assumed that if it were to be spelled ANDREW, you (or someone else) would have specified "all caps".
Andrew. But even if I wasn't sure what you meant, I would try all permutations I could think of before going back to you! Why do I get the feeling this person kept typing it in all caps over and over?
