1. Have you dressed up as an adult? Yes, once.
2. Are you planning a costume for yourself this year? If so, what? Nope.
3. What is your child/dog/SO going to be this year? Nothing. Dot was an angel last year, but this year she's just not medically/mentally ok to be outside/around people.
4. What was your favorite costume as a child? I *loved* being a pioneer. I had this brown calico dress and a bonnet and I probably wore that for 3-4 halloweens in a row (like 3rd-6th grade).
5. What's your favorite halloween candy now that you're an adult? Reese's.
6. What was your favorite halloween candy as a child? M&Ms.
7. What's your least favorite halloween candy? Mike & Ikes. I *still* don't understand why anyone gives that crap out.
8. How many trick-or-treaters are you expecting? Unknown. Last year we only had 20 or so, but apparently the year before that was like 200. So ... we'll buy candy for 50 and hope for the best.
1. Have you dressed up as an adult? No. Not really sure why not. 2. Are you planning a costume for yourself this year? If so, what? I think I'm going to wear leggings and a black shirt and pick up a tail/headband kit at the store. I want to do something this year--even if it is basic. 3. What is your child/dog/SO going to be this year? Cleo's not with us this Halloween. She loved her costumes. 4. What was your favorite costume as a child? I don't really remember. What I do remember is picking up a box kit with a plastic mask and some kind of plastic suit printed with the characters clothes on it. Why don't they sell those anymore?! 5. What's your favorite halloween candy now that you're an adult? Peanut butter kisses. They're so chewy and delicious. 6. What was your favorite halloween candy as a child? It was all delicious. Nerds. Pop Rocks. Loads of Chocolate. Except the one with crisp rice in it--what are those called? The ones in the blue and white wrapper, something like Krackle? I don't know. They tasted like the watered down chocolate. 7. What's your least favorite halloween candy? What? Probably those watery chocolate things I mentioned above. 8. How many trick-or-treaters are you expecting? This is our third year in the neighborhood but only our 2nd Halloween; not sure what to expect. 9. What are you giving out? M&M cookies (we get the individual snack packs) and some kind of apple churros. Yes, we're that family. The family that doesn't hand out candy, but it's still good tasting stuff, at least. If I'm feeling super generous, I'll hand out some of my Mexican candy, specifically mazapan.
I have dressed up in the past, but am not this year.
DS is SO OPPOSED to costumes, it's ridiculous. From pretty much the time he has been able to speak, he flat-out refuses to wear costumes, and cries if we try to pry him into one. I've told him no candy this year unless he at least does *something*, so he's agreed to wear this monster hat he has. He's such a stinker!
4. What was your favorite costume as a child?
My mom was always like, "Meh, you're a hobo!" and just put us in our father's clothes and draw stubble on our faces with eyeliner. Very not PC. And then we had those like plastic bag costumes, with the plastic masks with the little mouth-slit in it.
5. What's your favorite halloween candy now that you're an adult?
Kit Kat / Snickers / Reeses Peanut Butter Cups (call it a three-way tie)
6. What was your favorite halloween candy as a child?
Bit-o-Honey and anything chocolate
7. What's your least favorite halloween candy?
Tootsie Rolls. Gross.
8. How many trick-or-treaters are you expecting?
I have no idea -- lots. I think last year we got 8 bags of candy?
9. What are you giving out?
We'll get the candy we like, and maybe some toys/tattoos for kids who can't do candy.
1. Have you dressed up as an adult? Yes, mostly food related, like one time I was a birthday cake and another time I was a popsicle (twin pop, with my legs as the sticks) 2. Are you planning a costume for yourself this year? If so, what? No costume this year. 3. What is your child/dog/SO going to be this year? No pet costumes this year. I think that era has ended. 4. What was your favorite costume as a child? Not sure. I remember being really excited about those stupid store bought kind with the plastic masks, but I loved wearing old recital costumes. 5. What's your favorite halloween candy now that you're an adult? Reese's I guess, although I prefer the white chocolate to the regular chocolate. We've given out Hot Tamales before, and I love those. 6. What was your favorite halloween candy as a child? Bit o Honey, sweet tarts or red licorice. If I had known that the black and orange wrapped candy was actually Mary Janes in disguise, I would have loved them. We gave them to my mom because she liked them and never told us what they were.lol 7. What's your least favorite halloween candy? I am not a chocolate or black licorice fan, so most of the candy. ;p 8. How many trick-or-treaters are you expecting? No clue. Last year we had around 25, but since it is on a Friday we will probably either have a lot or they will all be at parties...could go either way. 9. What are you giving out? We are the house that gives out boring or healthy-ish stuff like pretzels/crackers/Cracker Jack...stuff that we will eat after if it is leftover. We figure that kids/parents may welcome a break from all of the chocolate (there are other people out there like me), and every year there are kids that get all excited about whatever non candy we give out.
