I'm sorry but I'm going to have to go with team Eclair. A filled long john means something COMPLETELY different to me. Teeeheeeheee
No. Eclaire's have a totally different dough than that. They're a baked choux pastry and that's a fried dough. It's just not the same.
Though it's hard to tell that from the picture so I won't hold it against you.
I mean, I don't call them a long john because long johns are fuzzy undergarments, but it's just not an eclaire by any measure. Also I cannot write that word without thinking I'm tagging eclaires

andplusalso, the filling is different. The stuff in that is more like icing, the stuff inside an eclair is pastry cream.

I don't know if they make them differently in other states, but in MA the bakeries here make the eclairs with vanilla custard.

Well for me an eclair is something I won't eat, don't like custard. Longjohns aka moo-dandies aka long underwear are something I wear under my clothes to keep me warm in the winter.

I just realized I put my phonic spelling, it's Italian slang for long underwear. Hahaha Mutandoni is the correct spelling. I had to look up the correct spelling if that helps.

**She goes back to look at the pic.** If it's icing, does it make it a Longjohn? Where exactly can I get a Longjohn pastry? Is it a Midwest thing or Canadian thing?
