Why are gin and tonics so gooood??

Ugh, 8th grade is why I can't stand even the smell of tequila.  I used to love G&Ts, but I got sick on them at a party about nine or ten years ago and I just have never been able to drink gin again.

This is going to sound weird, but I think it tastes like Christmas trees smell.  Sort of sharp and piney.

Well, it's infused with juniper berries, so not weird.  I'm a Hendricks girl myself.  Lime in the winter, cucumber in the summer.  Mmmmm....

Vodka tonics are my usual cocktail of choice, but MIL made me a G&T earlier this month and it was so good and refreshing.

Our lime tree is full and they're almost ready to be picked. I need to go to the liquor store in preparation, lol.

6c water, 2 1/2 cups sugar. Bring to a boil. Combine 1/2c lemon juice, 1 1/2c key lime juice. Mix everything together, add as many mint leaves as you like (I add about 15 leaves). Let steep at room temp before putting in fridge. Add ice and gin as you like.
