Yesterday, posted an article about healthy living instead of the flu shot. "I'm so interested to see what the supplements we already take plus the oils do for us this year. [Son] didn't go to the doctor for sickness until the end of March last year! I'm a believer of the alternatives ways"
Today, 3 yo is sick and asked what bugs are going around. "On a positive note the oils I've been using for fever work like a charm, so amazing!"
LOL that she considers going to the doctor one time in the flu season a success. Like all other kids are going to the doctor for sickness all the time. DD has been to the doctor for sickness once in her three years of life. No supplements or oils needed.

I think a lot of anti-medicine people (EO and anti-vaxxers) do assume other kids are getting sick all the time. They may see two or three FB friends post about their kids being sick at one time and think, "Oh, everyone else's kids are getting sick! I'm so glad I have superior knowledge about health!"
Sometimes I wonder how many of these people have kids who don't get sick because they're nutters who never let them go anywhere, so it's actually the basic quarantine conditions keeping them healthy and not the stupid oils.
That's probably a stereotype, I know, but oh well.

Your stereotype was true for me. When all of my kids were really young and we never left the house (we homeschool and on the days I worked we had a sitter come to our home), my kids never got sick. I think we went three years never going to the doctor apart from well-child visits, and that was with four kids.
Then this past year we started attending a homeschool co-op and my older boys starting getting into sports activities and music lessons. As soon as we were in contact with a bunch more kids in more public places, they started getting sick. We spent three months with one thing after the other - hand, foot, and mouth, and every other virus we came in contact with.
I used to be all high and mighty about how our extremely healthy diet was keeping my kids healthy, and I'm sure it does help. But no amount of organic, pastured, or non-GMO food is going to keep them from contracting a virus they come in contact with.
Last month at my local WAP meeting the chiropractor that was giving the lecture was bragging about how his 4yo and 2yo have never been sick and in my head I was thinking, "Just you wait!"
But I also like EOs. My kids' old sitter sold them and so she got me hooked. I don't think they can cure cancer or anything, but they do make me feel better when I have a headache or want to calm down. I have my diffuser running daily and I feel like it makes my house smell fresher.
Aspirating EOs daily in a diffuser can't be good for you. I know they would kill my bird.
Certain types are not safe around children, and I'm sure, small pets. You should never diffuse eucalyptus or peppermint around small children.
But others are completely safe, depending on how much you use. I only use one drop in my diffuser - things like lavender, for example.
Honestly, there are much worse things that most people are inhaling daily in their homes. Things like Febreze or room air fresheners or most cleaning products are highly toxic to little kids. Real lavender oil or fake lavender scented sprays - which one is dangerous? One drop of essential oil diluted into the air is hardly anything to worry about, IMO.
