Oh man. And this spelling thing is spilling over onto traditionally written names too. I was asked in the hospital to spell "Henry" for them. I told them it was just the normal way and she looked relieved and said "Oh great! But we just have to check because there are so many different spellings now. " Tha heck?

Well, Henry could also be spelled Henri and be normal.

Oh yes, totally. Like Alec and Alex. It was just the "so many different spellings now" that threw me. Certainly there are longstanding alternative spellings for some names based on country of origin, but I got the impression from the nurse that she'd seen more than the usual with an i or a y :-)
"Normal" was probably the wrong way to state that. My bad.
