Can you recommend a good movie/video for kids about the story of Jesus' birth? Something like VeggieTales or even something that isn't from a religious company?
I think a Charlie Brown Christmas is great. Charlie Brown goes through the whole episode asking everyone if they know what Christmas is really about, and finally Linus says he does and tells the Christmas story. I really like the simplicity of it.
Growing up, we had a pop up book that told the story. It was beautiful and we only got to look at it certain times so it was very special. We also had a nativity scene and would move to magi closer to the manger each day as they got closer on their journey. Every year, my dad reads the Christmas story from scripture (he rotates which version) before we open gifts.
I found that the Little People nativity was a better way to teach the story of Jesus' birth than a movie when my DD was younger (1-2). She didn't really get the story just from watching a movie, but with the nativity, we could act everything out and it was a game for her, too.
You might be surprised. At that age DD really started love to Charlie Brown. She asks for the Thanksgiving one in July..lol. She has no love for any other character at all, limited TV span, couldn't careless what's on but CB she likes.

I'm not complaining.
Thanks, I'll give it a try.
I figure if she's going to watch a show anyway while I shower and whatnot, it might as well be a seasonal one!
