I also really appreciate you sharing your splits and insights from the last 6 miles. I hope you don't mind me saying so, but it helps to know even really strong runners like you can struggle to hit your pace at the end. Since this spring I've been kind of down on myself for not being able to improve my finishing speed (the last 5-6 miles). Maybe there is still hope for me to improve even if I never negative split a marathon. It sounds you had tough conditions out there yesterday too, but you battled strong. Congrats again!

My PR is a 3:21 from 2011, and I had that pace up until the last 10k. I gave up a lot there. I knew is was such a long shot to PR that it was never even a goal. I do think I'm faster than I was then, but I had perfect weather for that one and the MCM course is so hard to run tangents on.
