This is the backside of the window decorations, the way they look from inside the house during the day....backwards and kind of pale. When they are backlit and viewed from outside at night they look much better. I'll try to post a photo later.
They are made using plastic tablecloths, glue sticks and a black marker. I drew the designs on black tablecloths with chalk then cut them out and glued them on. The smaller details were done with marker. I had to decide what details to cut out so that it would show and which things would be easier to draw. Painting would have been less time consuming, but I am pleased with the effect. ;p
When we moved into this house we had light fixtures with white plastic globes. I managed to save the one from the post light, so that I could make a Jack Skellington head out it. I decided to paint Jack on one side and Oogie Boogie on the other. We have a light for it that flashes green and red, and we are going to set it on top of our black mailbox so that it can be seen from down the street and so no one walks into the mailbox. ;p
My DD1 really got into Nightmare before Christmas. I did a Jack jack-o-latern this year. Freehand, so it's not great, but I like it!
I love it!
I am so crazy about Jack's expressions that I spend a fair amount of time obsessing over them. I even decorated my Disney Annual Passholder magic band with a TNBC theme and kind of got carried away. The Mickey head glows in the dark.

I live across the street from someone who decorates indoors and out, in a major way, so it is contagious.
No dogs though. They loved dressing up and being the center of attention, but it is different here, and they are different. It is too stressful for us and for Anja since she and Fiona have to be separated or watched carefully these days. It is too dark here for anyone to see them anyway.lol
We have inflatables....2 different Jack Skellington (one kind of boring Jack just standing moving his arms, and the new one with Jack sitting on a big jack o lantern), and a pumpkin headed non Nightmare related one that reminds me of The Pumpkin King.
The house sits kind of far back from the road so we will put the inflatables pretty much at the street and fill in the yard with ghosts or something more normal Halloween-ish, some luminarias and some tiki torches to help keep the bugs away. DH and the neighbor across the street want to be at the street giving out treats so that we can have our own little get together during the down time. We also want to avoid someone killing themselves tripping on our dark, very uneven driveway with exposed roots all over the place.
