That place is seriously in the middle of nowhere. The only way I could see myself staying there is if my car broke down on the way to a *real* city.
It's actually not that far from San Antonio. And that area (Fredericksburg/Boerne) is gorgeous and there are lots of great restaurants/shops/wineries in the area because it's pretty much a tourist destination - basically the Napa of Texas.
R and I did our 1 year anniversary trip to Fredericksburg (we lived in Texas at the time) and it was MARVELOUS. Relaxing, but PLENTY to do. We pretty much wineried our way through the hill country. The only downside was the FREAKING GIGANTIC wolf spider on the outside of our B&B house one night, which was horrifying. Conveniently, though, I was drunk enough I just sort of stared at it and then went inside. LOL
FormerlyRR - do it. You deserve a vacation, and those prices aren't horrifying. If you want another recommendation, we stayed at Settlers Crossing in Fredericksburg and it was *awesome*.
