I just got this weird foot pain on my right foot after sitting around an hour for lunch. When I got up to leave, the ball of my right foot (right behind my toes) hurt when I took steps. I've since then tried walking around the office and when I do the pain persists. What could this be?
Knock on wood, I've trained through three and on my fourth Half marathons and haven't had any issues.
I've had weird pains in that area before, and I never really knew why. They moved around, came and went randomly, and never stayed long. I don't worry about a dx unless pain is replicable and consistent in type/location. One thing I have learned as a runner in the last couple years is that sometimes you just get random aches and pains and they are not all worth worrying about.
I had a similar strange pain once - it ended up being that my work shoes were so worn that the sole had cracked right under where it hurt. It didn't hurt at all when I was on it walking around, but then when I sat down for a while and then stood up again it suddenly hurt.
So I blame your shoes. Or a wrinkle in your sock. (or mystery runner pains)
I am going with weird shoe thing. This happened to me over the summer. Of course, then my husband stepped on it and legit sprained it so just don't let yours do the same
