So, I'm a terrible person and lied to my sister in law about not seeing a text she sent a few days ago.... And then realized that I talked about said message with MIL. I sure hope SIL and MIL haven't talked about her wedding flowers since last Friday because I'm in trouble. LOL. SIL is on my shit list though because of a huge bridesmaid dress ordeal. I'm kind of "done" with her whole wedding. She's pissing me off with her whole "I'm an easy gowing bride. Just kidding! I hate the dress you bought even though I told you multiple times to just 'buy a gray dress'. It's too low cut and needs to be more conservative. Please return it! Thaaaaaanks!" I kind of hope I get knocked up in the next 4 weeks (unlikely) so I can gracefully bow out of some of the wedding shenanigans (showers, bachelorette party). Because it's hard to argue with a pg chick with morning sickness right?
I told my boss I couldn't do a project because I wanted to take part in a meeting today. Boy was she pissed. I've never expressed myself like that. Usually I'm a people pleaser and will do the task anyway, but I'm tired of always being the one chained to my desk when I could be interacting and learning. The meeting was great, I learned a lot, and it was a good way to get more involved with the other side of our business.

Vent: Possibly related to the above: I'm an emotional wreck lately. Like, full-on ugly cry over the stupidest things - including movies/tv, commercials, FB posts, and that Christina Aguilera/Great Big World song (EVERY FREAKING TIME it comes on the radio I have to change the channel). Apparently I'm also sobbing over MEMORIES of these things now, too, because I just had a little mini-breakdown when the song "Moon River" came into my head while I was sitting outside. If this keeps on much longer, I'm going to need therapy or medication.
mrs.jacinthe hugs You've had a rough year, so I think you deserve a new cat to make you feel better. Want me to drop a kitten off on your porch for you to "find"? No one can say no to a found kitten, right?
Actually, I don't want a kitten and COULD say no to one. However, if you could drop off a largish male adult or senior, that would be great. I accept special/medical needs provided they don't include peeing all over the house and/or chewing things. (Been there, done that, no freaking thanks).

I want a cat SO DAMN badly, but alas, we have to wait. DD2 wants a crab.
My random. I cannot motivate to run lately. I HAVE to keep training in the winter because I have a race in February. I'm worried about when it truly gets cold. I *think* my ILs have previously offered me their treadmill, but I'm not 100% sure and I can't be all like: "Hey, did you ever offer me your treadmill?"

Hmm. Freddy might be a great pet for you. He's about 7, very friendly to his humans, hates strangers. Loves TL who is very allergic. We are trying to figure this one out, and it's hard.

My boss is out until Friday afternoon and left me with one simple task to do, so I've been bored as hell.
(I just typed "board" instead of "bored" and caught it before I posted.)
Tomorrow is the office Halloween party and it's taking over the empty space next to my cube. Oh, and it's from 10a to 3p. I like office gatherings, but they do this for birthdays too (though not the extended time) and I just kind of sit in my cube and work while people shoot the shit. It's annoying. I, however, fully intend to wheel my fancy $600 chair into the area outside of my cube and sit in it instead of sitting in a regular chair.
thewop Who the hell tells you to pick out your own dress and then bitches it's not right? I mean don't brides do such things because they truly don't care and want one less thing to think about? And I need a PIP of this dress. You have great taste. How bad could it be.
My kids (DD esp.) have eaten not much more than some combo of cheese and carbs with the occasional pea thrown in this week. I care approximately none at this point. H is busy, DD is a whiny hot mess and the baby is mad at himself because he can't quite crawl the way he wants to. 100% of my fruit intake so far this week has been in wine form. as a result.
I am absolutely DREADING Christmas this year. I have never been a fan of Christmas to begin with (too stressful with multiple families) but this year it's extra bad now that I am single. If I have to sit with just my mom & step-dad and try to be merry, it's going to fail miserably. We have no other family on that side close enough to celebrate with. I am encouraging them to go visit my brother and grandkids in another state and I can happily just stay home and hang out. I am 100% ok with that. I don't even plan on decorating except a wreath on the door and candles in the windows so I don't look like a scrooge to my new neighbors. I can't wait until this year is over.
On a lighter note, I had a hot pretzel and vanilla Tootsie Rolls for dinner. It was yummy!!!

LOL! And this reminds me, there's a giant tootsie roll in my purse!
@justdairy Here is the dress. It's "too busty" for the bride's taste. (note I look like a hot mess. No makeup or hair done) Because her dress has long sleeves, and comes up to her neck (no joke. she's wearing her g-ma's wedding dress), so everyone else has to be consertative. She told me it has to be more on the conservative side AFTER I bought it. When she kept telling me to "buy a gray dress". I was pretty ragey after she told me that and I told her straight up that she needs to not pretend to be an easy going bride. It's a mess. And now she doesn't want to exchange gifts at Christmas because her and her FI can't afford them. I told the H that I'm sick of her dictating everything normal life because she is in over her head with a new house and planning a last minute wedding.

I love the dress. I am guessing that she doesn't like it because you look great in it and she wishes her wedding dress was that fabulous. She should change something on hers (remove sleeves, change neckline) to modernize her dress while still keeping the tradition. ETA: I can't believe I passed up the chance to say that she is jealousE. lol
If I lived near you I would come up with something for you....some sort of solution to temporarily modify the neckline or a shrug or something that looks like it belongs with the dress but could come off later. We did that for a bridesmaid a couple of years ago and nobody guessed that the dress and jacket weren't an outfit to begin with. That dress is too great to not use it for the wedding.

OMG. That dress is SO SLUTTY! Hee hee. Just joking. You look amazing and the dress is totally cute.
I love that you told her she needs to stop pretending she is an easy bride. She is not!
I had my two sisters are my bridesmaids. I told them to just get black dresses. They did. I never even saw the dresses before the wedding. Now that I think about it, my large-chested sister's dress was really low cut (she looked great), while my dress was more modest. The world did not end, FYI.

I can't get motivated either. A coworker of mine who is a hardcore runner (qualified for Boston next year) said her and all her running buddies have just had an "off" year with running/working out. No one can get motivated.

I'm having a rough allergy day. I keep meaning to ask my doc for a zyrtec Rx so I can flex spend it, but I keep forgetting and now I'm out of meds again. I may have to run down to Walgreens shortly.
Good for you thewop. I need to learn that lesson too.
If you belong to costco, their zyrtec generic is like $15 for 365 pills. it makes me very happy.

Do you think it is because of the cold winter last year? I didn't train worth a crap, but had a really great run on that relay 2 weeks ago. Beat all my projected times.
Yesterday, I finally got motivated, but it was so late that I was roasting veggies for dinner and had to stop mid-run to flip them. Ha!

Thanks!
She was in like...6 weddings this past summer, and when she got engaged she was SO adamant that she was NOT going to be a bridezilla or anything because she knew all to well how that goes. Well, now she's THAT bride. So I called her out on it. Life is too short to put up with that kind of shit.

I never thought the harsh winter. For me I think it was because I was experiencing burn out. I was getting up 3 times a week at 5:00am to run/workout and go to a class once a week. By the time May rolled around I just started feeling "meh" about it. I was tired. I haven't fully gotten back into it since then. I'll run a 2-3 mile 1-2x a week and go to my class, nothing like the 5-6 mile runs 3x a week or workouts I had last fall/winter. It sucks. I just can NOT get out of bed in the morning.

Quote-a-thon!
I hear you. My motivation used to be chatting with my friend. I'd gladly get up 3xs a week at 6:30am to run 5 miles with her, gossip, and vent. Now that we moved, my motivation is gone. It sucks and I miss her.
thewop that dress looks awesome and you look great. I think it is very classically pretty. I agree someone is jealousE..lol. Can you have it pinned up or a small panel stitched in? It would be a shame to waste it.
finally - I am dreading the holidays as well, but for various different reasons. I tried to get MH to go on vacation instead but he wouldn't bite. :drink: We're both going to need a few of those to get through the next few months!

For Zyrtec (cetirizine), my PCP would do a refill Rx if I just called and asked, because they've seen me so many times for sinus infections, and the cetirizine helps prevent it.

I'm pretty sure it was "final sale" when you bought it. RIGHT?

thewop, what a slut. JUST KIDDING. You look great in that dress. She's crazy. My sister went a little crazy when she was planning her wedding. She wanted even numbers for the wedding party and my BIL added someone 3 months before the wedding after she had purchased BM dresses (off the rack at Macy's) and all of our gifts so she had to scramble to add a new BM and get all that stuff. Then the BM dress was different (it was a blue lace dress and the lace was a different pattern, the blue was a different hue, the belt was different) and so she called me in a panic about that. I was so happy when I finally told her (day of) to just.let.go. I was her MOH for a reason, I told her to go relax in the bridal suite and I would set up the reception and it would be FINE, no one would realize that the centerpieces didn't match her color-coded chart. She calmed down, had a drink and was fine.
I'm about to attend a 5 hour Halloween party with a bunch of snack foods. Zofran, don't fail me now.
Confession: R doesn't want another cat until after Dot dies. I disagree heartily and I've been not-so-surreptitiously scanning petfinder and the local shelter websites daily. At some point, we *will* be obtaining another cat. I hate sleeping without a cat on the bed.
This is where I am too.
Clover cat is still alive, but he is mentally compromised and refuses to cuddle. He's just fur and bones, but still holding on.
I really miss cuddling a kitty at night. But in my case, spouse feels the same way.

:::hugs::: this is totally the worst part of aging cats.
The thing is, R agrees that he hates sleeping without a cat, but he wants to get through the holidays (when the house is in upheaval, we want to take day trips, etc) before obtaining one. I totally understand his viewpoint. I just don't happen to agree. LOL
I danced when I saw Starbucks and Jack in the Box. I'm not yet done with the list, but I'm already wondering who's giving away free food on election day.
