I started my new job training last week and I guess I've been spoiled with so many years of bedside nursing wearing sneakers because my feet hurt every day when I get home.
Some days my legs are even sore (and I swear I'm not that out of shape). The floors are work are a slick wood so I think I'm tense in taking steps so I don't slip.
I own a ton of shoes: comfortable, worn in, boots, flats. All of which I've never had problems with.
It's probably just a transition period for your feet. Just like when I started waitressing when I was a teenager and came home with swollen feet and ankles from all the standing and running back and forth in non-athletic shoes. You'll adapt with time.

This. At my last job I wore mostly flats, boots, comfy shoes and sat at a desk all day but here I'm in heels 99% of the time, I spend a lot of time walking from one place to another (I work in a hospital and it's a huge campus) I was miserable in the beginning and now flats and such actually bother me. You'll adapt.
Clogs? It was the only thing that got me through 8-hr rounds at the hospital.
This. I'm wear the dansko professionals. If you're dressed up, they arent too ugly with wider legged long dress pants. (I wear them with scrubs--I know they're ugly, but my feet and back thank me)

Foot pain sucks. I agree with most of the comments and suggestions: try everything and give yourself some time. I remember my feet hurting so badly, that at the end of my shift, I was in tears. They were so swollen my feet were round on the bottom. I thought I'd be crippled by age 30.
