I've been asked to provide more "supervisory" references for this possible job. My last boss had no problem doing it for me and gave me rave reviews, but I've been asked for more people and former coworkers aren't good enough I guess.
Would it be totally out of line to ask attorneys I worked with 6+ years ago? I left on good terms but I almost feel weird asking them.
My old assistant asked me to write her a ref letter and we haven't worked together in about 4 yrs. I didn't think it was weird because we worked closely together at the time. So I think you'll be fine asking them. Is there a non-work supervisor you could ask as well? Like a volunteer position or club or something?
I'm assuming there are no bosses between most recent boss and these people 6 years ago? If that's the case I'd not hesitate to contact somebody from 6 years ago. It's not really that long in the grand scheme of a career.
