For temps in the 40s, I'd wear exactly what you're planning, plus a hat or visor if it's supposed to be sunny. I'd also wear cheap gloves and throw them away when I warm up.

Sounds good. I wore shorts, tank and thin LS overlay and it was about 50-55 and sunny, and my start was 10:30. I was freeeeezing after I finished because it is in the park, in the shade, and that Mylar blanket only helps so much, so be sure to have friends or family have a warm change of clothes for you. Have fun!!!
I'd wear thin capris and a tank and arm warmers/throw away gloves. I've seen the weather forecast and they are calling for some heavy winds. I think that will make it feel colder. I really hope it changes for you! I over heat more on top. Everyone is different though.
I think your plan sounds good. It was pretty windy last year at NYCM but there are so many turns in the course that I never really felt a strong wind from any direction for a long period of time. Just make sure to wear lots of throw-away clothes to keep warm in the hours you are waiting before the start!
I ran NYCM in similar conditions in 2010. I wore shorts, SS shirt, gloves, and arm warmers. I had throwaway pants that I ditched in the corral and a throw away top that I ditched around mile 2. I had planned on ditching the arm warmers at some point but I ended up wearing them for most of the race.
I was cold for the entire race and I wish I had worn capris. My legs just never really warmed up. And the wind when you are going over the bridges is brisk..

Ditto those bridges. Worst mile ever was the queensborough bridge. Exhausting, uphill, cold and windy as hell. If it's going to be cloudy, maybe consider capris, but I remember being ok in shorts...I think
