I went last night and I was so nervous it was not even funny, but I had a great time! Everyone was very nice and it ranged from serious runners to back of the packers like me. It was a 3.3 out and back course so I took it very easy the first 1.5 so that I could stay with a group since I wasn't sure where the turn around was. Once we turned around I kicked it up a little, but still took it easy. I got back to the store and they had jello shots and beer and I ended up talking to two ladies that are part of the group. I was going to head home after, but they were all going over to the bar and convinced me to go over for a drink so I went and had a really good time and met some other people. I wore my xinglet and it was fine, but kind of dug into my neck so I need to figure that out because I'm worried about it chaffing on longer runs. I think I may need to get a head lamp because there was one area that I had to stop and walk because it was so dark when I was crossing the street I couldn't see where the curb was and I got nervous I was going to take a header. MH and DS bought me the Nathan trail fuel belt last week so I wore that with one bottle to see how I liked it since I'm planning on doing 7 miles with it tomorrow and it was great - no bouncing at all and it didn't feel like I was wearing anything. I'm hooked and I can't wait for next Thursday night!
