Also, sometimes instead of saving a whole family meal, I'll save it in individual serving bags, so I can grab a bag and a bowl on my way out the door and have lunch for work.
I freeze mine in individual tupperware containers (filled to the top to reduce the amount of air in the container). This way, I can just grab one from the freezer to bring to work for lunch.

I freeze chili in my muffin tins, then toss the "muffins" into ziplock freezer bags. That way I can defrost just what I need (about two muffins makes a nice serving unless you're DD #2, who will maybe eat one).
I use small and pint sized glad containers to freeze. The small containers are perfect to add to a salad for lunch. The medium is perfect for a meal for two people, or a hearty meal for one. The individual sizes means that they can defrost in my lunch bag or microwave very easily.
