I have a 10K in the morning. It's going to be 39 degrees and 25 mph winds. I have to get on a plane 2 hours after. And I very might well be DFL. Good times.
I'm running a 10K tomorrow. It's through one of the huge Christmas light displays in our area. The course is supposed to be flat and fast. I've never run this distance, but I figure at the worst, I'm going to be running through gardens, around a lake, and through Christmas lights. How bad can that be?

They start lights early! Have fun. We've done this with the kids and it is a blast.
I had a trail race this morning. It's a smallish local one through a beautiful nature area. It was about 40 and pouring rain. At one point I had a choice of running through a FOOT of water or just several inches, but a longer distance. I was going for the foot and then I saw it, uh-uh...went back for the "several inches".
I am pooped and finally warm and dry but I did better than last year! Only about 50 people showed, as compared with almost 200 last year. It was a lot of fun.
ETA: Results are up, I came in second in my age group (there were only 6 of us but WHO'S COUNTING, lololol). 12th female out of 37. There was actually 86 of us all together. BUT most importantly I shaved more than 3 minutes off my time from last year, in crappy conditions So I am happy.
I ran a local 5k this morning. It was 45 and raining, but I got a PR - 23:46. So glad to finally break 24 minutes. I shouldn't have had those beers while trick or treating though, my stomache was not happy with me!
My friend and I are doing a 10k here in DC tomorrow morning. It's supposed to be a beautiful day - temps in the low 40s with windchills in the 30s with sustained 25 mph winds. Fucking awesome. I'm about to pull the pickup my shirt and not run. I didn't really bring much for that cold.

Don't you get a jacket instead of a shirt? Maybe you could wear that during the race.
I registered for my first 10k in 5+ years today. Should be a huge PR. Since the start is only 3 miles from my house, I'm going to run home and count it as my long run for the week
I'm excited, it's on the new stretch of highway that is opening up before the end of the year. It's a unique experience!
Good luck everyone! I'm doing a 10-miler tomorrow morning. I'm supposed to do 18 tomorrow so I think I'll run the race, come home, then run the remaining 8. Or I could run 4 miles back into the course and "finish" again. (Without actually going over the finish again, obviously). Is that dumb?

Have a great race! I'd probably do it all at the race, unless it's really close. I don't like to stop and start, though.

My half was postponed because of the weather we're expecting 50-60 mph winds and the fire dept is worried about downed trees and power lines. Such a let down

Hopefully they will reschedule it and you will get better weather!

So sorry. I really hope you can find a redemption race soon or that this one will get rescheduled so it still works for you. {Hugs!}
