Okay, someone just posted on FB that her niece got a bag of powdered government milk in her candy bag :/
What does this even mean?
The powdered milk bags or packets were from the food surplus distribution programs - like government cheese, etc. The thing is, I'm pretty sure those programs haven't given out powdered milk for like, 10 years? So it was a powdered milk packet, and a really, really old one
No, it's still gross. The texture was probably all off. Candy is not so expensive that it needs to be frozen and saved for next year... My coworkers were happy to take the leftovers
Doubtful re: texture. I freeze chocolate chips, baking chocolate, etc. and it's always fine. It's not about cost, it's about not being wasteful IMO.
