If you were traveling to a foreign area (USVI) were GPS did not work but your cell service worked (w/o roaming) and you had free high-speed internet included at your vacay rental....

We just stayed at an adorable apt in Edinburgh in August, and while I had the basic details (Address and phone number for the owner) before hand, everything else was in a binder once we arrived - wifi passwords, takeaway menus, tourist guides, maps, etc. Even the instruction manuals for all the appliances! It was really helpful :-)

This exactly, including that it was at a flat I rented in Edinburgh (rented in June) The flats I have rented in London also included most of this information written down except the Edinburgh apartment had a lot more info.
Could you do both? I am a planner, so I would love to be able to see some of the "local" information as part of my planning, while the information on wifi passwords, instruction manuals, etc I would not need until I have arrived.
