Have you ever been? We're heading there soon and I would love some recommendations for restaurants, kid-friendly excursions, etc. Also, how is the ferry to Nevis?
Loved St Kitts! It is not super touristy but nice and relaxed. Decent restaurants (can't remember all the names) that we went to were The Shiggity Shack, Jam Rock a Jamaican jerk place - good rum punch, Cathy's - good fish, right on the beach. Most of the restaurants were literally shacks on the beach. A good day type trip was Cockleshell Beach - just a different beach. you can see Nevis from the shore. The fort was great for kids and beautiful views. We used Thenford Gray for a tour as we did not rent a car. taxis are cheap and plentiful. Thenford arranged a private tour of the Carib Brewery for us.
For tours of the island both Grey's Island Tour and Royston Tour's are highly recommend on Cruise Critic and TripAdvisor. Both are family friendly and would give a nice overview of the island and give you and idea of where you might want to spend more time during your stay.
