Family day was fun and we had plenty of food for our early Thanksgiving. Photos went well and we got some keepers. I can already tell that the holiday shopping has started though.. it was packed everywhere we went!

I had a really good weekend! I worked Friday night. While I had to stay later than I wanted, I did make good money.
On Saturday, we had 2 birthday parties. One was for my friend's son and the other was for my cousin. It was a good time at both. I also finished up my online work that I started in August, so that felt SO good!
Yesterday, we took DS to a bounce house place, and we ran into my BFF. We also went with other friends (and our friendship is flailing) so I was super glad to see BFF. After that, my sister came up for lunch. We went up to the outlets and shopped without the kids. It was glorious! I made an awesome dinner (meatloaf and mashed potatoes), and the Pats won!

Went out to eat for Italian on Friday night, which was really nice.
I was annoyed about issues scheduling a hair appointment so I just ended up doing my own color on my own on Saturday morning. It was my first time ever doing a permanent hair color all by myself, but it turned out pretty good so I am happy with the results. Then the H said he wanted to cover some of his greys, so we went to the store to get a box of men's color to do his. He says he feels a lot younger now, lol.
A friend came over later that day and we watched some football games and made a big pot of chili. My team won and is now eligible for a bowl game, so I was VERY happy, but friend's team (LSU) lost so he was kinda bummed. We had plenty of booze to both celebrate and console him, though.
Yesterday we did our cleaning, grocery shopping, and laundry, watched more football, and then the H attempted to make dinner last night. It was... not good. But at least he tried to do a nice thing, even if the result wasn't that great.

I finished up nearly all my Christmas shopping. I need to get hubby's gifts still, but other than that I've only got one more person on my list.
It's my SIL if anyone has any thoughts. Late 20's, recently moved across the country to live with her boyfriend. Doesn't drink. I'm this close to getting her an Amazon gift card.

Does he normally not cook/know how to cook or was he trying out a new recipe?

Fashion scarf, cute socks, maybe a photo in a frame of her with friends/family from before her move, ceramic garlic roaster, a book on 101 things to do see in the area she now lives.

Friday night we had an impromptu gathering of friends, so that was nice. Stayed up way to late.
Saturday we slept until NOON! I haven't done that in freaking forever, but we were up until about 4:30am, so it's still really only a normal night sleep. Got the garage cleaned out and then went to dinner/Bar
Sunday we ran lots of errands then went back to the house, watched football and Jay made a big Sunday ham dinner.

- What does she like to do? - I have no clue. She changes her mind like the wind. I haven't seen her since May.
- Where did she move to/from and do they have everything they need for the home? - from Chicago to Florida. Her BF is much older and owned a home, so I think they have a lot of stuff. Hubby and I have never met him.
- Any pets? - a min pin.
- Will you be seeing her over the holidays or are you just shipping something? - She'll be here soonish. Her birthday is also in December
I'm not sure about a spa gift card, but Bed Bath & Beyond might not be a bad idea. She can make the house more her own.

We decided on stir fry last night, which I thought is easy enough, but then he doesn't measure out the water for the rice and instead tries to use the marks on the inside of the rice cooker insert (which I've told him MANY times is not accurate), so the rice was not like rice at all... came out like the consistency of cream of wheat. Then he added an obscene amount of crushed red pepper to the meat & veggies, so it ended up being a bowl of too-spicy stir fry on lumpy, mushy rice. I ate as much as I could handle, haha.
I've had those days. It was nice that you at least tried it.

I made him feel bad with the face I made, he probably won't cook at all for the next two weeks now. I usually try not to critique his cooking & discourage him from trying, but it was probably the worst it's been in a long time. Oh well, I don't like to hover and watch him while he cooks so I just let him do his thing last night and it was not good this time. At least we can put the mushy rice in the dog food, they won't complain.

Friday, H had dinner ready to serve when I got home. (and dishes washed!) I don't remember what we did after dinner, but we watched The Wolf of Wall Street.
Saturday, slept in. I did some things around the house, made deviled eggs for the first time and they turned out delicious! Worked for a couple of hours. Went to see the University's play. I stayed up til like 2am.
Sunday, got our shopping done early before it cold too cold and wet, watched another movie, did some laundry.
It was a pretty annoying weekend. I wish I could have a do over.
Saturday I just hung out around the house and cleaned and organized some of our cabinets.
Sunday was the most annoying day EVER! We had our puppy class and he was a terror to everyone we saw. I spent $40 on new toys that I thought were durable. Nope, an hour after we got home they were torn apart. He wasn't even being hard on them, the stitching just popped open. We took our big family picture with everyone yesterday and I wanted to strangle everyone! They were bitching about how cold it was outside (it was 32 degrees), bitching about the snow, bitching about the location. I worked really hard to organize and pay for everything and no one was grateful. I'm so fucking hurt by my siblings always doing this to me. I had to work around everyone else's schedule and the picture occured later in the month. Had we done it 2 weeks ago like I wanted, we would have had beautiful sunny weather. Times like this make me wish I no longer lived close to them because they drive me insane!
I'm sorry about all of the disappointments. Your family could use a dose of graciousness and shouldn't have complained so much after you made so much effort to get everything organized. That's pretty shitty.

My weekend was good. The concert on Friday night was fun. The rest of the weekend was pretty chill. I wrote a lot and got some Christmas shopping done.

Great weekend, though not as productive as I would have liked. (It was the last weekend before I came back to work, so I would have liked to prep more, rather than doing it all this morning.
Friday - we had some friends over for dinner, and watched The Walking Dead.
Saturday - we dropped the dog and kid at my parents' house, and then went to a local brewery just the two of us. It was amazing with some really good beer! Then we collected everyone, went home, and watched some t.v. with a fire going.
Sunday - laundry, making granola, and other items for the week and did some cleaning/reorganizing.

Only Sunday was a real weekend, and I went up to my brother's place. We brought the dogs, played like 5 hours of Arkham Horror (a board game) and STILL didn't finish it. Then went out and got a super tasty dinner. I had a "holiday turkey burger" and we had fried zucchini sticks for an app, cronut type things for dessert and I had a pretty prickly pear lemonade.
darkling_glory is it you who goes to GenCon each year? We may be playing with the idea of going... is it wonderful??
Oh, Friday I had a facial at the new spa in town and it was magical. I made a really fancy dinner for our bff's that night. Short rib lasagna (took me like 5 hours to make), bruchetta, and roasted broccoli with garlic and olive oil. I also made rice crispy treats for dinner. Huge success!
Saturday we taught classes and ran a couple errands. We went to an early dinner, just the 2 of us and it was great.
Sunday we stayed in our jammies all day, drank, and watched football.

It's me! It's only the most glorious four days of gaming! We look forward to it all year round. As soon as we get back we get started planning for next year.
I'll tell you, reg starts in January and it is getting harder and harder to find a downtown hotel room. I can walk you through the process though. If you really want to go you have to book on registration day. I can Facebook you more deets if you want!

You have to go!
We're trying to get to Seattle/Alaska to see my BFF and dad this next year so I'm not sure we'd make it this coming time but definitely something I want to do in the future! I will have to hit you up with questions at some point, thanks!
