It's great that she is raising money. And, she's training in them & doing extra strength stuff.
But, her claim that she would run her first marathon in under 4 after one 2hr17min half is ridiculous. I think under 5 in heals for a first timer with that half time is a bit ambitious, but I guess if her training paces fit the bill...
And she wears 7inch heals 12hrs a day anyway? Wtf?
I was rolling my eyes at the times she predicted as well. My fastest half is a 2:18 and an under 4 hour marathon is so not happening anytime soon. I think the money raising is great but man she is gonna hurt the following day!
This sounds like a terrible idea. And her first marathon in 5 in heels after a 2:17 half once? I mean, good luck to her but I agree with kams - seems ambitious.
I can't imagine this is good for her long term, either. Her feet, tendons, toes, etc have got to be hating this idea!
It's not that I want her to fail, I just want her to be really freakin humbled. She's annoying me. I find it very hard to believe that the heels will only slow her down less than 1 min per mile (which is what would have to happen, to run under 5 hrs based on that half time.)
ETA: I want to know what kind of heels she's running in, because I probably need to get a pair.!
Good lord. Just no, is the appropriate response, from others!
I wonder if the mention of her 2hr17min half in relation to a 4hr marathon is just journalistic license? Like, maybe she said she ran that half time a while ago, but is faster more recently?
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

5-inch heels? No. That has to truly mess with your legs big time. And she is normally in 7-inch heels? What does she do? Isn't like practically en pointe?
clseale - They showed a picture. It looks like some type of mary jane. It has to have amazing cushioning.
That's a terrible idea. I am still dealing with what I suspect may be a stress fracture I incurred years ago when I wore heels for a week straight for a standing sales position. I also did a lot of running to catch buses and taxis that week. The pain tends to crop up when I'm training for races and it makes my life miserable. She is dumb to take that risk.
Not smart in the least. Seriously that is a terrible idea and a good way to ruin your ankles.
Yeah I hope that they failed to mention that she was a lot faster. I had a 1:53xx for a half and I ran my marathon in just over 4. Otherwise she is just delusional.

This is where I'm at. A marathon is twice the distance of a half. So, given her half time is 2:17, not sure where double that equals less than 4 hours.

I can barely stand in heels. I made it down the church aisle and for my dances at my wedding in 3-4" heels and wanted to die. So this is a whole lot of nope in my book.
