My niece is moving out of my library and I want to put a chair in there. The room is a smallish bedroom 12 x 12' with the Billy units on 4 walls bringing it to 10 x 10'- I want to keep it simple. I'm figuring a chair to fit DH (6'6"), an end table, floor lamp and laptop stand.
I kind of like the retro styling; it looks almost like something from "Cat in the Hat". And I'm not too concerned about wear because DH hates to be alone and he has a swell chair in the living room where he reads now. But I don't want something that'll fall apart immediately.

I don't have it. I remember seeing it in-store and liking the shape. Maybe it was the fabric that I was so-so on. I think it was a bit scratchy? I don't remember exactly.
I have it and love it. H is 6'4" and really likes it. Everyone that comes over comments on it. Between the seat and the angle of the back, it is pretty deep. I would probably tape out the dimensions to make sure the room doesn't feel too tight. I think it would be perfect for a library.

Yeah on the fabric. It reminds me of the stuff from which one would make a cheap mens suit. Shouldn't matter to him though, he's isn't likely to ever sit in it wearing less than long pants and sleeves- he's a button down kind of guy.
He fell hard for a Stressless Ambassador with a screw on laptop desk. The desk was smaller than his laptop and almost $900. Not happening. My parents used to have an old Plycraft Mister Chair- I wonder if it's in storage somewhere.

Good to know.
The room currently has a full sized bed- it's tight- but doable.
