Those of you that I'm FB friends with may have already seen, but I actually got up and ran this morning. In subzero (with the windchill) temps. with SIX other ladies. WTF were we thinking? And I'm going to do it again tomorrow.
Also, wanna know what's even more awesome than shower beer? Shower coffee.
I'm going to Cheesecake Factory tonight for dinner. WTF AM I GOING TO EAT, YOU GUYS?!
I ran at 7/8 am ish and it was not awesome. It was cold and windy and I was so slow. I did it though. So yea, I guess?
I'm thinking about joining a running group for Winter training. Maybe it won't seem as dreadful with company? I have a few friends that run with the group, so that would be fun (although I'm not sure I can keep up with these particular friends) They meet 25 minutes from my house though. Do those in running groups think it would be worth driving that far? DH will be off on the evening they do tempo runs and the mornings they do long runs.

I'm in the airport with my 2 kids waiting to fly to Florida for 2.5 weeks. I'm excited to run (be) in warm weather again.
Where in FL? It will be 30 at my house this evening. (Although I'm at the airport, heading to 12 degrees. 12!) Anyway, it's supposed to get warmer, though. We're just getting the cold front everyone else has. Should be in the 70s by Saturday.
I WANT CHEESECAKE FACTORY!! I haven't had it in years and almost got it when I was back in Ohio last, but something happened and we didn't go. Boo.
I did 3 miles with the dogs today and dodged ice patches and tried not to died most of the time. It was "warm" enough here that I didn't need gloves/hat today. It was glorious

cinco I'm going to do long runs this winter with a group, its about 40 mins from my house. It isn't my running group but a different one and most of my running group goes to the long runs. I usually drive about 20 mins to my running group, so I think its worth it.

I'm supposed to run a few miles tomorrow morning. I'm not looking forward to the cold. My winter post-run treat is to make myself coffee with hot cocoa mix and milk added to it. I call it my Poor Man's Mocha.

I think it's worth it for long runs. I drove 20 minutes each way to meet my training group for long runs over the summer, and it was well worth it. 20 minutes is practically nothing around here though (DC area).

Mmm...Cheesecake!
You guys...the more that I don't run, the more I lose my motivation to train for this marathon in March. I'm at a point where I'd be okay with giving up running in favor of other things...BUT I want my damn Whale Medal!

I met my group at 5am and it was in the 20s. There were 8 of us which is a bigger group than usual. I think we were in denial about how cold it was. Subzero is just crazy. I can't imagine. Our run actually wasn't that bad, except that we ran too many hills and now my butt hurts. We run in this gigantic neighborhood, and the last two times we have run, the guy leading the pack takes the hilliest route. I cursed him this morning. We all ran that damn hilly race on Saturday and are now training for flat Kiawah. Stop running hills, asshole! I cannot wait to get to Charleston (4 days!) and run some flat flat flat.
One of the things that I like about running in the pitch dark is that it's too dark for me to easily see my watch.
I'm going into the holiday season about 7 lbs heavier than I would like. Hmm, this is going to be ugly come January.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!
So, I have mentioned on here that my post-lunchtime run at work is a bit...lacking. Lately I have been cleaning up in a single bathroom with no shelf to put my stuff on and the floor is kinda sketchy. Picture it- me wearing nothing but a backpack, wiping off at the sink. Well, someone clued me in to showers in one of my agency's buildings, and I found out today I have total access to them! I looked at them, and although they aren't fancy, they'll get the job done, and I'll have a locker! Plus, I don't have to go in and out of my office building so that our clientele can see me in my running gear(and if you know what I do, you know that this is a big issue...) I seriously cannot wait to shower, lol!
My schedule is making me CRAZY. And I'm pissy about it. And I'm tired of stupid work shit.
Anyhoo, I brought my stuff to run here at school, rearranged my schedule to make it happen, asked DH to pick me up later (which throws him out of whack, too, and I DIDN'T PACK A FUCKING BRA.
FUCK times infinity. It's going to be almost dark when I get home now, which means no track workout. Which means treadmill (fuuuuuuuck) for my 6 miler, and a track workout Thursday, with my 22 miler on Saturday. Ugh. I'm pissed.
Running in weather as cold as I did at 5am is definitely crazy, but wanna know what's crazier? Me if I don't run enough. It's a bitter, bitter tradeoff...body heat for sanity.
Do I want to teach 2 spin classes on wed? The 530 am class is open, and if I do that, I will be looking at a 14.5 hour day every Wednesday (with driving time/get ready time/lunch/etc.).
I've done it before and it's not terrible, but I'm pretty exhausted by the end.
I told my manager that I am leaving today. It's weird, I got choked up when I was telling him.
jene - I always feel emotional when leaving a job, even if it's the right choice. I totally get it. On another note, does this mean you got the job offer you were hoping for?!?

I'm all over the place- I feel like I've been floundering since my half in October. I am loving having the time to do other things (yoga, trail running) but I'm losing interest in the January half I was planning to run, I sprained my ankle (minor one) on Sunday and I got selected on jury duty and while it's interesting, I'm struggling to balance that with work and my morning workouts, healthy eating, etc. I'm scared I'm going to lose a lot of ground over the holidays.
I am on day 5 of cutting all sugar out (besides red wine) and I went to an hour long tabata class at lunch today. I'm back on the original plan I used to lose all that weight. I started that diet in November 2009, about 2 months I graduated from grad school. I'm starting this diet in Nov 2014, 2 months after I finally got a job after months of under employment. I guess November is my lucky month.
I think I'll be back here in the evenings. To scared to post from work.

It's relatively warm today since I'm use to Oregon weather. By this weekend it will be actually warm. I'm in central Florida.

Yeah, it's a bit warmer there, then where I live. I guess we hit upper 20s, but it's warming back up again, quickly. Have fun!
