I knooooooow, it's so very 2010.
But I'm trying to decide on a color (temporary) for our downstairs bathroom and I've fallen back to it. This is only temporary because we're actually just trying to make the bathroom presentable for my inlaws' use over Christmas. Slap up some board and batten, mud/paint the walls, replace the sink and counter (we already have the sink and will be staining/sealing a hunk of numerar counter from IKEA for the countertop), and done.
This is my inspiration pic:
This is the bathroom in question (after we took the old yucky beadboard off the walls) - pretty much exactly what it looks like right now:
Is it going to look dated? Am I crazy for wanting green in a bathroom?
I have 2 bathrooms painted SS and I love it. Let me know if you want some pics. I agree that it will look good with wood or white (We have cherry cabinets and white counters). I personally like how moody it is....it's a diff color depending on the lighting.
I don't have SS in my house, but I have a ton of colors that are similar to it. I think it's at most dated to people who post on these kinds of boards. Definitely not IRL. And if it is what you like, do it anyway!

I'm glad you posted this! My kitchen is BM Prescott Green and I'm thinking of having it repainted silver sage. The Prescott green is too minty. I was also considering SW SeaSalt. I think a few ladies on here have used it. Looks like a nice color!
Paint colors are all a matter of personal preference. It doesn't matter to me if it was uber popular 4 years ago or last year's Pantone color. If I love the color I'm going to use it. I say do it. It will look great!

Sea Salt will be a little lighter; I think Comfort Gray (one darker on the same chip) is the closest SW color to Silver Sage. My LR and DR are Sea Salt with Oyster Bay below the DR chair rail. I really like it.

Are you thinking of Sea Salt? Silver Sage is much more blue-grey, although it can look greenish under artificial light which actually drives me nuts. Here is Silver Sage in our nursery in natural light.

My bathroom is sea salt and I absolutely love it. I used to have Silver Sage in my old house and really liked it. I think you would really like SW Sea Salt!

Sea salt looks great!
Sorry, just to clarify, these pics are Silver Sage. :-)

I'm not a Sea Salt fan, it's just not quite moody enough for me. The inspiration pic tags their color as Silver Sage and I've actually had it in a house previously, so I love the color moodiness (and I think it will read as mostly blue in the bathroom, but I'm not offended by that).
I have a perfect color match through SW, so I'll get the paint there. I appreciate all the feedback. We're going to do it with the board and batten painted Olympic delicate white.
Upper wall (RH Silver Sage color matched through SW):
Board and batten and sink cabinet (Olympic Delicate White color matched through SW):
Ease of use. I'm a stain moron. Every time I use penetrating stain, I wind up with streaks and blobs and it just looks bad (even when I do everything right, use conditioner, etc). I can do gel stain without those issues. It's all about the final product's visual at this point. We'll be sealing with satin marine spar urethane.

Got it.
I will say that I had more issues with using stain when I used minwax than I do using General Finishes stains. I can't go back now.

I really really love that rug. The whole nursery, but especially the rug.
Aw, thanks! Usually when my parents go to India and ask if I want anything, they'll bring back the most hideous version of whatever I asked for and I'll end up hiding it in a closet. I finally asked for "a green rug" and this is what they brought home. Not green at all, but I love it!
