They are hanging holiday banners on the light poles out front. I hope they string up some lights too.
Completely random but are you missing the NE yet? Would you have been in the path of all this snow that hit the NE?
Yes, for sure I miss it. I don't think this will ever feel like home. Maybe that will change when we get a house, but I've lived almost my whole life up there so I definitely miss it.
All that being said, I can't believe the weather up there. I don't think our old city got much, if any, snow. bullygirl979 can confirm maybe? I know it was a very cold 60 here last night, and 19 back home.

Barely anything. I can still see grass poking through the snow.
I am eating leftovers from my favorite Mexican restaurant in the whole world. They had a posole special and it is seriously amazing but so spicy! It is clearing out my sinuses so well though. I should mail some to tiramisu!
I'm in such a mood today...EMO music in my headphones and comfort food on my mind. And drinks. God, I would kill for a bottle of vodka and a corner to curl up in.
DDs and I went out in the snow earlier today. I shoveled the walkway and brushed off the car while they played. Then, we went to the mall and walked around and talked to Santa. Meanwhile, at XH's house, about 10 miles away, he's digging out of 60+ inches of snow.
Definitely! There were pics of tunnels people dug on the news earlier. Crazy snow. And they're forecasting that same area to get another 20" through tomorrow. Then, a thaw this weekend with highs in the 50's, which means flooding.
No harm, really. I'm just being shy... I'm kind of "out of my element" in the dating world. A casual hanging with friends at the bar is one thing. A solo date is a little more intimidating.
I'm about to pull out some awesome peer pressure, ready?
DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT,DO IT!!
I started seeing someone a few weeks ago. He's handsome, smart, and very confident without being arrogant. I like him and he likes me.
How are you just dishing about this NOW? Deets, lady!
I was just trying to quietly see if I liked him first!
So I only met him a couple of weeks ago but we've spent a ton of time together already. I'm actually seeing him every night until I leave on Sunday (well, except for tonight). Normally I'm all, "no, I don't want to see you every.fucking.day". But I really have fun with him and enjoy his company so...
Anywho, he's a few years older than me. Never been married, no kids. He's a Prosecutor with the State. Very smart. He's such a gentleman in a very quiet, unassuming way. Like, he just is like that and doesn't expect it to even be notable...like that's just how he thinks all men should be. There have been lots of little things he's done where I can tell he's the type to be a good partner. This is stupid but it's an example of how he'll step up and help without being asked. He came to pick me up for dinner the other day and I was running late so I was rushing around with last minute stuff. I came out into the dining room with two necklaces all knotted together that I was trying to get apart. I said something to him and then put them down and just said, " guess I'm not wearing a necklace." I didn't think he was even paying attention to what I was doing because we were talking about where we were going for dinner. I went back into the bedroom to get my shoes and when I returned to the dining room, he was standing there untangling the necklaces. He looked up and said, "which one do you want?" I almost melted. It has been so long since someone just stepped in and helped without my asking.
Anyway, that's kind of a dumb little story but I like it. There's more but I'd start gushing so...

I hope it stays that way through after Christmas! I don't want any snow up there while I'm there!
