I love WEN, but I have way too much hair to drop $30 on a bottle. I literally need a bottle a week. I have tried all kinds of knockoffs. I thought most of them were terrible until I found Pantene Cleansing Conditioner. It is seriously identical to WEN. The scent is not at good, but everything else is spot on.
It's around $5 for a 16oz bottle, so it won't send you to the poor house. I've also tried the Herbal Essence version, but I couldn't stand the smell. I've been using it for a month now and my hair is so soft and shiny. Even DH noticed and that man wouldn't notice if my nose fell off! Normally I would be due to get my color done in the next week or so, but I can push it back because it still looks perfect. I will never use regular shampoo again.
I've been using Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner for a few months and it's great. I like the scent much better than the Pantene. Plus it is super cheap.
I have a thing against Pantene! I'd try it, but the last time I tried using Pantene anything my hair literally started falling out!
Lucy, did you once post favorably about one of the Wen knock offs? I think you got it at Sally or a similar type store?
What do you use on your hair?
I've been trying to pull the trigger on Wen but it seems like a big commitment and a lot of hoops to go through as far as ordering it. I'm hoping for something I can just pick up without much effort or expense.
Oooh I'll have to give it a try. Between the hard water here and the cold (and dry heat), my everything is drying out. I've got a dry hair AND dry scalp issue going on now. =0(
And anything to extend hair color life is a good thing

Was it Hair One? I found that at Sally's and used it for about a week. I loved the smell, but it made my hair a huge tangled knot.

It definitely helped my dry scalp. It was horrible before and now I have no itching. This stuff is magical!
I have been wary of Pantene since people I know who do hair are very against it. It's basically putting a wax coating on your hair. Not sure about this new one though. Sounds good.

I was a hair stylist for almost ten years and I love all drug store brands. Stylists will say they are against it because they want you to buy the expensive products they sell in the salon. I used to say it too when I was working for product commission. Now I can shout it from the rooftops...I LOVE PANTENE!!
Do people with fine hair like these products? I've tried Wen, Hair One, and a drug store cleansing conditioner (maybe the Herbal Essences one, I can't remember) and no matter how much I try to rinse it out, I always feel like I can't get it out of my hair.
I have thick, dry hair and I agree about the residue with Wen. I felt like my hair had a slimy film or something.
