Creative Help: Elf on a Shelf Letter

We are going to be on vacation next week and want to give my son a letter from his Elf saying that he's back at home waiting for him and to be good because he's watching, blah blah but I have zero creativity. Anyone feel inspired to help me write a little something?

Maybe do it second to last night or the last night with something that indicates it took him a while to track the kid down or travel to him because Santa is too busy with final preparations to give him a ride.

I think this is the best place to confess that I already asked Monkey what he thought about Elfie visiting another child's house this year since I hate that damn elf. I never remember to move it.
