Apparently this week has somehow teleported me back to 1996. Yesterday, I had to place an order from the Company Store over the phone because I couldn't get the website to work properly. Today, I'm ordering CHECKS. (ETA: I write them to my hairdresser and the dog groomer b/c it's cheaper for them than taking my credit card. Also use them for the "deposit" on the CPR dummies I use.)
I've decided to get the carpets cleaned before R's parents get here and it's only going to cost us $130 for two rooms and at least 16 stairs and a landing. If I add on the tile in the kitchen, it'll be another $300 ... I'm debating because I have nowhere to put all the furniture except in the kitchen, but dang I want clean tile.
I finally got R moving on adding the board and batten to the bathroom as a temporary fix and I'm tempted to have him cover the bottom half of our bathroom window with it - sort of false it in like it's a shorter window, because it is 14" wide and approximately 70" tall and goes nearly to the floor behind the toilet. On the outside, it is behind the deck railing. (The previous owners made some questionable decisions, to be sure.) R thinks this will be ridiculous. I don't care a LICK and may do it myself.
Mrs J-Not that you asked my opinion, but I agree with R on the window thing and would frost the window or hang shutters or something. Not sure what I would do about the tile floor, but I have always wanted to have that done to my mom's tile floors.
I have spent most of the day looking into power lift chairs as a possible gift for my mom, and now I am sick of looking at ugly chairs but the ads are mocking me. I am really puzzled why a lot of places only offer curbside delivery with no delivery upgrade possible. How is someone who can't get up supposed to get the chair into their house?
My neighbor called today to ask if MH and I want to go to Orlando with her for a week. "I know you're busy with school, your H is working, and you have a new dog, but can you get away?" Um, what do you think?
Only 3 more weeks of school this semester. Can't.wait.

It is frosted. And we have mini-blinds in there. (Truly mini, LOL) I just hate that because of our old-house construction and the way the bathroom is laid out, the window well is like 5" thick, directly behind the toilet, and there is literally no way to clean back there short of standing on the toilet. My thought is that with the window "shortened", it will be easier to keep clean. Maybe not? Ugh, I'd really like to get rid of it all together. I guess we'll keep it until we do the full reno on the bathroom in a few years.

Bacon and dessert are a no go for me.
I write checks every month. They charge me to pay my mortgage any other way. I have to write them to the sitter too. I do pay my utilities and phone online, hospital by phone and my auto insurance is autodrafted. All that has happened in the last year because I hated doing that before now.
I'm getting IHOP for dinner and I'm going to feel so sick afterwards because I feel sick now and I can't quit when there is French toast in front of me.
