What they did was ridiculous but a anyone who knows anything about the Duggars shouldn't be surprised.
I highly doubt TLC would pull the show over it. The whole show is based on their extreme religious views and I'm sure their actions aren't really a shock to anyone at TLC.

Well considering how often the Duggars are talked about on here and on TB in the past, I would say people care. I am not one of them, but plenty of people do. They have deals with People magazine and NBC to announce every time one of them procreates or has a slightly bigger baby bump. I think they are gross. (And I didn't read the link)
My disdain for HuffPo is worse than it is for the Duggars.

I don't think people actually CARE about them, I think they're a car accident people can't stop looking at. People don't care about them, say, the way people care about Jennifer Lawrence or some celebrity with a head on her shoulders.

There's a few people on my BMB who defend them hardcore. I don't get it at all, and have said as much.

They are gross and they shouldn't be on TV. I dislike reality families in general but they get an extra slice of contempt for their backwards, abusive, bigoted, oppressive ways.

That's totally what I said... Should we not learn anything from Duck Dynasty? TLC cares about ratings and viewers, not about petitions. I don't think their crazy viewpoints should go unchecked, I think that if you really want to make a difference you will hit them where it hurts. Their wallet.

I have never watched the show and won't on principal. Everything I've read about them suggests they're child abusers at best, plus misogynistic assholes. I don't think they need a petition to be pulled off the air because if people weren't watching they would have been pulled. Clearly their show brings TLC money and money is what talks.

I would support a petition to have CPS open a case against them and have the children removed for physical and emotional abuse (which is what their brand of brainwashing is).

True story, my MIL and Michelle Duggar used to be in the same social circle/had mutual friends.

My MIL is NOT like MD.

I just listened to that. I just feel so sorry for them, it seems like the majority of them are in relationships that are abusive in some way and they are fearful of the "outside world".  They isolate themselves and give someone else (husbands) complete control over their lives and major decisions.  I am not really sure how reality TV would fit into the description of this lifestyle. And People magazine spreads, where do those fit in? I think the Duggars are all hypocrites.

Eh, I think TLC does a good job of whitewashing their belief system. Like if you just watch the show and that is all of the Duggars, I don't think you see lost of the truly horrific stuff. You never see them blanket train, I don't think homosexuality has ever been mentioned, and nothing about their political campaigning.

Yep. Up until this point TLC has hid their evil beliefs and ways. And they themselves have hid them too. Funny how weak their convictions are when money is involved!
