My 3 year old DD is so loud that it's grating. Lately everything is a tragedy met with wails, moans, and cries. I try so hard not to respond but it is the worst noise I've ever heard a person make. I feel bad for my neighbors.
DS's cry is like a hoarse sounding scream. It is horrible. It literally sounds like a dying animal. And DD just doesn't stop talking. In her voice, a loud voice, a monsters voice, the voice she mimics when talking like me, barking like a dog...it goes on and on.
I told G yesterday that if he didn't stop loudly fake crying. I was going to take his game away. (He had already been playing a wii driving game for. Entirely too long, but I was making dinner and N was "playing" too, which meant she wasn't trying to help me cook anymore.)
It worked. Until the next incredibly annoying sound

Yes yes yes. All day long. And if she's not talking, she squeaking, or "whistling" (really just very high pitched squealing), or making noise with her body in some other way. And DS has started banshee screaming. When something is taken from him, lord help all of our ears. I agree with @tooshort. The first little bit of time after bedtime is "ahhhhhhhhhhh, quiet" time.
Yeah it's not even just the volume. It's the fact that they NEVER shut up.
I told DH I finally got an inkling of what it must be like to live with me. Smart man just smiled and walked away.
I've told dh to be thankful I have this place to air my grievences and conversation because otherwise he would be totally overwhelmed. He knows I talk to much. He's in a lot of trouble given how out numbered he is.
