This one is more religious (it's by Mercy Me) and not necessarily "Christmasy" but I think it's really pretty. It's about baby Jesus from Joseph's perspective.
This is one of my favorites. Come on Ring Those Bells, by Evie. My mom was really into Christian gospel music in the late 70s, early 80s. I remember standing on the table belting out this song. I just ordered this cd for my mom like 5 minutes ago. I've been looking for it off and on, and finally Amazon had it, on prime of course!

My go-to Christmas song is Carol of the Bells (my playlist has around 8 different versions, interspersed in 11 hours of Christmas music ... I have an addiction, I know, I know). But that's pretty well known.
I don't know if it's lesser known to everyone, but I just discovered "Mary Did You Know" in the past few years and I just love it. It makes me teary.
Also, Joni Mitchell's I Wish I Had a River, which I didn't know about until Love Actually.
And people will disagree but the radio station I listened to in college always played My Favorite Things as a Christmas song and I LOVED that I always heard it on my drive home from the airport after Thanksgiving break and it put me in the Christmasy mood!
My H was in a caroling group years ago that would rewrite lyrics to popular songs to make them seasonally appropriate. Found a video of one of the songs, Holidays. Still cracks me up. (And no, he's not one of the guys in the video, though he is on their CD)
This sing is more "winter" than christmas but I always think of it at christmas. It's Suzy Snowflake. They used to always play it on the Bozo Show Christmas special. And for some reason it has always stuck with me
I love Alien for Christmas by Fountains of Wayne. So catchy.
I think that my fave Christmas song is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/ We Three Kings done by Barenaked Ladies and Sarah Maclachlan. I don't even do religion, but it makes me want to sip mulled wine by a Christmas tree and I love that, by the end of the season, it's not one of the ones that is completely played out and makes you want to scream when you hear it.
That video is intense. Can you imagine if that was happening outside your window?
There is a house down the street that does this, with actually a few more lights an decorations.. Sometimes you can see the family walking around inside and I wonder how they don't get annoyed with this!
And I love when people blend songs and artists. I san along to he video;)
