I just got my first "is the baby here yet/we need an update". Ummm, I'm only 36w5d...I think it's a little early for these messages/phone calls- we're not even in December yet!
I finally got my flu and Tdap shots today. I have been putting it off because I'm a big baby when it comes to needles. Um, there was seriously zero pain. I felt a little silly after it was all done.
luv2rn4fun Oooh you're going to have to hide out the last few weeks of pregnancy. So annoying! I've been getting emails and text this week but my EDD was Tuesday.
Just posted this but I have an induction date for next Thursday.
Done with all this prodomal labor so trying a labor shake that I used with my other two pregnancies (one for PROM, the other for being past due and avoiding medical induction). Hoping it works a third time for me!

I had my 30 week appt today, and am measuring at 39 weeks!
I am off all of next week. It will probably take the entire week to prep for Thanksgiving, rather than just our normal 2-day blitz. Glad to have my mom coming early to take over in the kitchen, but I can't make her clean too!

DH and I are 90% sure we are hiring a cleaning lady.
BFF (whose house is never EVER clean) totally side eyed me about it. I get we aren't rolling in it, but I have not done a great job keeping up with the house and with a newborn coming I think it would be nice to have someone come in and do some cleaning for us.
Holy heartburn! I bought some Tums today and they're not cutting it.
Saw the heartbeat today, it was 120! My mom went to the appointment with me, and both of us looked at each other and said "it's a boy" at the same time. She feels very strongly about the heartbeat/sex theory, me less so. My RE is now discharging me from her care, and I'm waiting on my OB office to call me back so I can make an appointment.

Do it. It's some of the best money we spend. I still have tidying and such to do but it is so lovely to have someone clean the bathroom and floors once a week. Highly recommend a cleaner over almost any baby gadget or nursery furniture.
Also, we found that in the newborn stage some of our spending and expenses were way down so we actually had more money to play with. We went out and ate out way less with a newborn.
Similarly, now that we have two kids and a third on the way, I know we'll eat out less and won't be paying for babysitters for date night for a while. Savings!

orangeglow we love our cleaning lady! She comes every other week and it's the best! We started with her when we were both going back to school and working full time. It was magical. I get side-eyed from some of my family who think I should be the one cleaning the house, but I'm totally cool with doing the daily stuff and paying someone else to do the big stuff!! You'll love it!
Well, we had our level 2 ultrasound this morning. My little stinker is not being cooperative; they still weren't able to get all of the measurements they wanted. It does look like he/she is probably going to have a club foot. The doctor wants me to come back in 2 weeks so we can look again, but since he's seeing the same thing my OB did, he's thinking it's pretty likely. He did say that baby looks great otherwise and is measuring ahead in weight/size.
I'm kind of all over the place with my thoughts. It's not life-threatening; it's treatable; and everything else looks good, so yay! But I'm sad that my little one may be in pain or discomfort as we treat this.
So I don't know much about club foot, but I just did a little googling and was impressed at what they can do for it that doesn't require painful surgery and scar build up! Our friends were told their daughter had a foot abnormality, but when she was born - it is just a big space between her toes. Not whatever they thought it was. Hopefully your little one's condition is either not severe or not at all! But you know you will get tons of support either way - so talk it out when you need to!

Today I came back from my trip to LA (I was there for a week visiting my family). I feel like my bump has really increased.. i wonder how much of it is baby and how much of it is all the food i have been eating. My stomach has been cramping a lot so i feel like it really grew this past week. also, i feel like i am missing the maternal gene or something, i am excited to have a baby but at the same time terrified almost daily lol.

We are absolutely getting a cleaning service for once I get back from maternity leave (maybe before). I absolutely don't want to spend our free time cleaning when we both work full time. Just do to the big stuff every couple of weeks, there will still be dishes and laundry etc. But I don't want to spend my weekends cleaning hardwood floors and showers!

Not that I really buy the heartbeat theory either, but mine was 120 at 7 weeks and when I went back at 10 weeks it was 174. It's pretty early for it to beat much faster than that right now.
ETA: congrats on seeing the heartbeat. It is the most amazing and relieving thing to see!!
I was on my feet all day yesterday and all morning today. Now my back is sore. I'm taking it easy this afternoon but planning a full day tomorrow with my mom and moving on Saturday/Sunday. I have a feeling after this whole weekend I'm gonna need a few days off!
Monica Geller That is all good news. Fingers crossed for smooth treatment.
As a side note, I wish birth defects were discussed more in pregnancy classes, etc. DS1 had two birth defects, one ended up being benign, the other he had surgery for at 3 months. He's fine now but at the time I felt really alone and we were very stressed out.

Add me to the list of those thinking about hiring someone for house cleaning! I swear I just text my BFF something similar at lunch today. I was telling her that I just haven't been able to keep up the last few weeks and the house got torn apart with moving my craft room downstairs and the nursery going in. I said I just want 1 or 2 times for someone to come in and help me out with the floors and dust and the stuff that I can't get to.
Hiring a cleaner was the best decision we ever made. Needless to say we will be keeping the cleaner once the baby arrives. It is worth it for our sanity alone.
I am waiting for dh to come visit me after work. He is supposed to bring me a blt sub which I am way too excited about.

My work has now decided to hire someone to cover the overlapping maternity leaves in my department, haha. Now that the paid ML is 12 weeks instead of 8, we're all going to overlap quite a bit. First one goes out mid Jan (she wants to take the full 16 weeks with unpaid FMLA for the last 4 so we might be back at the same time), then me at the end of Feb, then the 3rd in April. They didn't seem to think it was a big deal before, but we've been so busy that I think they are realizing how much it's going to suck to be down 1 or 2 employees for a good 6 months when there are only 8 of us total including the managers! It's been fun though talking to them about pregnancy things

House cleaners are the best!
I ahead my first cervical check today...1cm dilated and 80% effaced. The doc was very "impressed". I guess the "contractions" and knife stabs to the cervix were semi-productive
