When I see something like this I always assume that it is 1 first name and 2 middle names. I would stick to 1 first and 1 middle (I have no issues with maiden names as middles names but I would use it as the only middle name).
DH has a first name and two middle names. I will say that his second middle name gets left off a lot of stuff because there isn't room for it, but it's otherwise a non-issue.
My sister, bro and I all have first. Middle, mothers maiden and last names. It's fine.
Are the middle and maiden names two middle names? Or are the maiden and last name both last names? Not sure if I'm making sense.
It would be like Mary Caroline Martin Smith, going by Mary. Not like Mary-Margaret Caroline Martin Smith, which doesn't bother me either! #southernnameinsanity
If you are Hispanic then there's your excuse. We don't drop the mothers maiden name it just goes last. Juan Pablo Medina Gonzalez where Gonzalez is the mother's maiden name. Plus if you chose a name like Juan Pablo that kind of goes together i think that's ok.
My SIL did this. Legally, are both names recognized? My nieces go by their father's last name at school and everywhere else

yes they both are. Actually that's an extra layer of identity so, it's used to separate Jose Manuel Perez Restrepo de Jose Manuel Perez Garcia. True story
Two middle names is a family tradition, so I would choose that option. My cousin has a cutesy double 1st name like Ashley Rae with a middle name and She's never had a problem. I remember calling her the double name when we were kids but by our teen years she was just going by the first half. Many people in the family still call her double name and it doesn't bother her. I think you'll be fine either way. Having more than 3 names isn't a problem 98% of the time.

My niece has 2 first names, a middle name, and then her last name. But everyone is pretty much just calling her by her first first name already, and she's only 6 months old. Her name flows nicely, it just seems everyone (except her mother) has already dropped the 2nd part.

I know lots of people with hyphenated first names like John-Dan and John-Robert. The hyphenatees are the only ones I know who kept their names throughout their adult lives, although many do call then JD and JR.
