Yesterday at 9:53am So I'm closing my fb page right now. It's been almost an hour since I have been back and the only thing I have done is scroll through my news feed. that can only mean I'm blocked at the moment. I need to concentrate and FB isn't helping. So when I get this chapter written I will be back on. I can't slack now. I only have 12 days left to get this done!!!
Random Enabler: See ya when you come back .. you will be missed.. Yesterday at 10:16am
Boring McWindbag: It's amazing what I get done with my writing when I'm not distracted by here. I started writing at like 9:20 and at 9:50 I close this, now at 11:30 I have finished the chapter! Still have time to start the next one before I have to go get the girls from school. My only distraction was music. That doesn't distract me as much as this does. lol! But now I'm down to have 9,341 words left to write to finish NaNo! Making it less than 1,000 words a day to write in the next 12 days, but i write more than 1,000 a day anyway, so i will be done long before that!!! Yesterday at 11:40am
RE: Congrats on the work done! Hope you get everything finished early so you can relax.. Yesterday at 11:43am
B McW: I hope so too. NaNo site says I only have to write 779 words a day for the next 12 days to finish on time. Yeah, i do at least a 1,000 a day. According to them my average is 2,139. Kind of a good thing i didn't start brand new this year. i wouldn't even be close if I had. Maybe next year though! Yesterday at 11:45am
RE: Awesome.. that's alot of words lol Yesterday at 11:52am
B McW: Yeah it is. I think my 3 books are between 30 and 40k words. Maybe as high as 45k, but I think they would be considered longer short stories. Won't be that way once i rework them. Fix the spelling/grammar issues and rework it a bit to sound a little better. I think after finishing them I was in too much of a rush to share them with the world I didn't look at them all close enough. Yesterday at 11:58am
RE: Hope this one comes out better. Yesterday at 12:00pm
B McW: Me too. I will have not only my eyes, but BestFriend eyes, she edits for me, and another set of eyes too. Luckily I have been using Google docs which helps a lot with grammar and correcting things I missed. I'm thinking of adding a few others as beta readers to make sure the flow is good. If I can find anyone who is willing to read or suffer through teen/YA for me. Someone who can view with email and who will be completely honest. Someone who won't steal it either. That's what is hard is finding someone who won't try and pass it off as their own. Especially after i have spent so much time working on everything. Yesterday at 12:06pm
RE: I hear ya there... people these days are so untrustworthy.. sorry to say it.. Yesterday at 12:12pm
B McW: I know. If it's not that, it's that no has time to sit and read through and critique. I guess that's what they make contracts for. Or people want to be paid, and an indie author doesn't make that kind of money. Heck my editor gets paid in books. That she is patiently waiting on. lol! She doesn't mind though. If I made a lot more I would definitely pay her a percentage, just because she puts as much effort in helping me fix things as I do in writing them. Yesterday at 12:18pm
RE: It's nice that she helps you and is patient about it lol Yesterday at 12:30pm
B McW: Yeah, it is. There no way i can afford anyone else to edit. They charge a set rate for either the first maybe 20,000 words and so much per a word after or for the first 100 pages and so much per a page after. That could cost me well over what i actually make back from my books. At least at the moment. Yesterday at 12:32pm
RE: Ouch, that sounds like a lot.. Yesterday at 12:33pm
B McW: Yeah it is. I have looked at all kinds of options even asking her to do it. All the things i have read said to use a professional, but I bet most of them have money to throw around before hand, and can hand the loss of a chunk of money. There are times I wish I did. Yesterday at 12:44pm
RE: I wish I had money at all lmao Yesterday at 12:44pm
B McW: Yep, I know that feeling. DH might get paid every 2 weeks, but that money only last if we are lucky til Monday right after he gets paid. That after bills, gas, fuel for the oil tank, and essentials. Normally, I only get 2 pay checks a year where we don't have to shell it all out to bills. Yesterday at 12:52pm
B McW: I have only made if I'm lucky $100 off my first 3 books. I'm hoping with reworking of those and this new one I can get a little more. I have been making a lot of friends that are fellow indie authors so maybe with their help I can get out there more. I know I have been helping one in particular. She only has one book out so far and releasing another, I think at the beginning of the year. I met her through a group for book promoting. Yesterday at 12:55pm
RE: Well that's awesome, good for getting out there! Yesterday at 1:29pm
B McW: Yes it is. Yesterday at 1:37pm
***** 1 - She's afraid someone is going to steal and take credit for her work. 2 - She's MENTORING FELLOW AUTHORS. 3 - She's AFRAID SOMEONE IS GOING TO TAKE CREDIT FOR HER WORK. 4 - She answered a compliment with "yes it is". 5 - This conversation went on for almost 4 hours after she said she was leaving FB for a while. 6 - You're fucking right you couldn't afford for an actual professional to edit your shit. 7 - I'm considering posting the giant mass of "I've writen this many words/my trailer is out of oil/I'm still working/I'm distracted/need to get my butt in bed/headphones/getting a shower/5000 words to go/my pretty princess daughter has a clothes fetish/3200 words to go" bullshit she's posted now that, you know, she's closed FB, but whoops I pretty much just did. 8 - snarf.

But if someone steals her work, they could get the $33 she could have made off that book over I don't know how many years.
Also - did I read that right? She is writing for NaNo and sticking to the word limit but won't finish the book. So she's waiting for next year? Next year's NaNo? She is an inspiration.

I think BMcW said she didn't start writing for this upcoming NaNo from scratch. She used something she was already working on and adding to it for the deadline. Then stated maybe next year she would start it from scratch. I know too much about this chick's life.

ah, reading comprehension fail. I literally almost ended my question with, "nevermind, I dont' think I actually care" which is probably the point of being a boring mcwindbag. lol

I am just PRETTY SURE she's using FB. She's probably written close to 50K words about NaNo.

Yeah, somehow I can't imagine that she'd have any difficulty coming up with a large volume of words.
And wait, is this her version of not using facebook? Or did she already quit and come back after 2 hours? Or is she going to quit, just not today? I just feel like... nothing is different. lol.
I just imagine she's a test subject for a speech recognition software and this is her rambling to herself. Every time I hear a radio commercial for Amazon Dragon, I think to myself that this is what so many people would be like with that technology.

I feel like the Random Enabler is posting on her own GBCN saying, "She has 500 friends! Why am I the only one making sure she never stops entertaining us!?"

9 - She's needling RE to edit her book. 10 - After the painstaking work of writing 2.87 books over 1.5(+?) years, she has only made $100 (if she's lucky).

I do wonder if that figure was before or after the loss she took when she spent all the proceeds on a giveaway that no one participated in.

I find it funny that it sounds like Random Enabler is trying to end the conversation with each comment he/she makes. No questions asked and very short responses. Then BMcW takes that into a whole other opening to add more details and RE feels obligated to respond somehow. I think RE was regretting making that first comment by the time the exchange was done.

6 mins What have I been doing all day? Not what I should have been doing. I got some of what of my writing done. Taking me down to 3,268 words to go, but the rest of the evening I spent with the kids. We listen to all of 5SOS's videos on youtube. We played Pandora. Dancing around and taking fun/funny pictures. Oh and niece and I cooked dinner. Well she helped with the mac and cheese. Putting in the cheese. I just can't seem to concentrate right now. I know why too. It happens every time I near the end of writing a book. I don't want it to end. I want it to go on forever. The bad thing is this has at least 2 more parts. It's not like I done with the whole story yet, just with this part. So when I get to the end I try to drag it out. Too bad I don't have a lot of time to drag it out. UGH!!!! Come on mind. Stop playing around!
