I guess the blood thinners weren't working, because he still has the clot in his leg and more clots in his lungs. On top of that, he has pneumonia My poor dad! I am trying not to overworry myself, but stomach hurting from stress. I just want him home and better. He is being kept at the hospital right now on mandatory bed rest and they are running various tests on him (he mentioned an EKG).
(((hugs))) I think the worst part of getting older is the parents getting older...
I think this is such a shock because my dad is only 50. He'll be 51 on Saturday. His dad died at 53 from a heart attack, so this has me on edge. I hope that my dad outlives his dad by many, many years.

Parents getting old is such a scary thought. My dad is now older than his dad was when he died of a heart attack. Just thinking that makes me worry because you never know, even when someone is healthy for now.
Lots of positive thoughts coming your way. Your dad being in the hospital is the best place for him now. Hope they are able to find some answers soon. ((Hugs))
Hugs Glitzy. My dad is also going through health issues right now, it sucks. Like, I feel REALLY guilty about not wanting to travel home on Thanksgiving because I feel like that is what a "good" daughter would do...but I also have to live my life, and do what is best for me, and I just don't have it in me to travel on my long weekend...I am always going home on long weekends and I want to be selfish.
Anyway, sorry for turning this into a me story. (((Hugs))) hope the procedure is quick and effective!
Mom texted and said that the procedure got pushed back to Monday "because of the weekend." This infuriates me. Is this not an urgent health issue?
She said they are planning on doing the procedure Monday and then he'll be in ICU for 3 days. They are releasing him tomorrow and then he is return Monday.
Ugh. I'm sorry. I think I told you before that my sister had clots in her legs and lungs. She had surgery and afterwards felt sick. She went to the hospital for shortness of breath and they scanned her lungs for pneumonia and found the clots. She had pneumonia as well. They kept her two days and released her on high dose blood thinners. They wanted to release her after 1 day but she refused to leave essentially.
She had to go back to her doctor after 6 months to check if the clots had disappeared. They had so they removed her from the blood thinners.
My point is that maybe the clots are small enough that it's not necessarily an emergency to keep him. They sent my sis home too. (((Hugs)))
