I didn't watch last night becasue I recenlty had a loss and struggling with tttc was the whole episode pregnancy based? Trying to decide if I should watch later?
I trust Shonda NOT AT ALL. And she said that this whole thing with MerDer isn't a marriage ender. I keep saying this, but if I've invested this much of myself in this show for the past ten years only to see them break up, well...I don't know what I'll do.

I agree with this. If Shonda breaks them up, I will be pissed. Although I DO think that they both are handling this situation like small children. People do Bi Coastal relationships all the time, and we know they have the $$ to travel back and forth. ANNOYING
Omg I can't handle Derek anymore. He's soooooooooo whiney and deuschy in EVERY scene he has. At least sometimes Mer has good qualities around other people.
Also I am loving Alex and Jo, I hope that stays good for a while.
Poor April and Jackson and their little Buddah baby.
if i hadn't already given a decade of my life to this stupid show i would stop watching it.
i only like alex and jo. can we have a show just about them?
i'm not even sad about april & jackson because i think it's shitty writing. at least shonda could have made it something that fetal surgeon could fix as her last hurrah!

I just love Alex - especially when he was talking about the house. He has always been my favorite character and he is pretty much the reason I'm still watching.
But I agree - after all this time if Shonda breaks up Meredith and Derek there will be hell to pay. But they are acting like children - they need to get it together.
I'm so over Arizona. And yes - the always dramatic pregnancy storyline is so overdone.

If Derek is anything like my husband, he didn't really call that lady, he just fake-chowed it to piss me off and prove a point.
In any case though, he was right in the sense that he is damned if he does damned if he doesn't with her. She got mad when he took job and mad when he didn't.

I also don't get the big deal with Derek being in DC for awhile. He's obviously miserable and annoying in the current situation. Hire a nanny for some help, and let him do his thing. He is Derek Shepherd, and Meredith is jealous.
We all knew this was coming! I feel bad for Derek, he's being an ass but Meredith has been one too. She kept saying she wanted him to go, so she got what she wanted.
The whole thing with the baby was weird. I'm surprised that they could tell from 2 blurry US pics that the baby has this crazy rare disease. And that there is no treatment option. I feel like they are goign to have some intern come up with a crazy idea to save the baby which will be super stupid. That's what they always do. That's what they are doing with that Dr's tumor. She has a brain tumor and supposedly the best brain surgeon in the entire world (Derek) works at her hospital and she didn't seek his opinion? And I find it weird too that we're just supposed to believe/accept that Amelia is as good as Derek. They've made Derek out to me a one in million surgeon for so long, I find it funny we've never really heard of her before.
But then again, I'm guessing they are setting it up for Derek and Mer to leave the show and have Amelia and Pierce take their places. Dumb. I care for very few of the characters in the show anymore. I hope they end it soon.

IF the baby has this disease, it is not curable. I'm hoping they are wrong, it is such a heartbreaking disease.
Did anyone else detect a thing with Owen and Amelia? I'm not sure how I feel about it. Part of me is screaming NOOOOO because I always wanted Amelia to end up with the cute older shrink from Private Practice and I just can't get that out of my head.
Poor Jackson and April. I hope this isn't a marriage ender for them. Before they found out she was pregnant they were on shaky ground.

Ugh, what disease was it? It sounded awful.
It totally sucks that they are doing the whole MFM fellowship thing this year while I'm pregnant. The episode last week where the mom bled out from her c-section was so depressing.

Osteogenesis imperfecta. I remember learning about it in genetics class. It's awful.
I watched What To Expect while pregnant and it was not good. It's so hard to watch things go wrong. But they show the rare stuff because it's more interesting! Remember that.
I'm pretty anti-Meredith in this MerDer saga. She's been horrible about him not taking the job and now horrible about him taking it. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for him. The fact that she can't recognize that really bugs me. She's in a partnership. There are ways to make the distance thing work and she's been really unforgiving about how much he's struggling. He's not blameless in this, but her attitude has bugged me from the start.

It's a brittle bone disease. The bones are super fragile and break in utero. I'm sort of annoyed by the whole premise though because I have a really low risk pregnancy (basically no risk factors for anything) and my doctor has done all kinds of testing. This is something that would have been caught much, much earlier with standard prenatal care. I mean, I know I'm digging into this, but sometimes I find Shonda's story lines to be a bit too far-fetched.
I'm having a very hard time getting invested in april and jackson's baby's storyline. It's just really bad writing. I was waiting for something bad to happen to them. I'm annoyed.
I don't get the deal with Der and Mer. He clearly wants to go and she doesn't. So make it work long distance. This situation is helping no one.
Amelia and Hunt!! Not bad!!
Arizona - omg, go away.
What are the chances that a guy will take an extra step and then fall down AND sustain a head injury AND go into coma. COME ON.
I like Maggie Pierce! She is spunky.
Is anything going to happen to Karev? Good or bad? He has no story since that forced story about his father!!
I worry for the season finale. It's going to be super predictable, ugh.

So I have not watched the last episode but I had already read what the diagnosis was. I'm confused because I went to elementary school with a girl with this who is now a college graduate living a mostly normal life. While it has to be managed closely and it certainly isn't a mild thing, it certainly isn't a death sentence which is what it seems like the commercials are making it out to be? Also it seems very weird that they would be able to make that conclusion from an ultrasound. I thought it was normally diagnosed after birth.

OI has a several different types. They diagnosed the baby with type 2 which is the more serious version. It's possible to diagnose/suspect it from lack of bone growth, shortened bones etc from an u/s but they would need more testing to confirm. Since Dr. Herman is some kind of fetal medicine genius (they all are geniuses on the show, aren't they!) , maybe she can tell.
