My staycation starts at 4:00 PM! Then I have 9 days off. I can't wait to see my sister on Monday! Also, I'm going to try to organize and declutter a little while on staycation!
TGIF I'm going to a grizzlies game tonight, one of my friends at work got us tickets for my birthday (3rd row!). Her boyfriend is coming and a "tall, good looking 40 something year old" friend of hers. I'm not sure if she's trying to fix me up or what! I have nothing to wear. I think she's going to try to keep me out all night!
I hate leaving my son with a sitter. Hate it. I always feel so guilty he begs me not to leave. It breaks my heart.
Happy Friday! I'm going to dinner with friends after work but don't have anything planned for the weekend except for yoga at some point and a coffee date...and some content for work. So happy it's Friday and that I get to see my family soon!
Happy Friday! I woke up kinda congested and my eyes are puffy. I look like total crap as if I were hungover. The traffic has been horrendous lately. The other day it took me an hour and a half to drive home from work (13 miles) I can't stand it. This morning I left early and am getting Here late anyway. Fuck you traffic!!!! So glad my staycation starts at 4pm

It's open enrollment season for insurance. So XH and I get together and compare insurance to see which is better to put DS on. I want to make sure that it covers his current doctor, and his speech therapy.
Had to take my dog to the vet last night. Her itching was getting so bad she was chewing off hair. I've been fighting these fleas for months: flea shampoo, flea collar, flea spray, Frontline...nothing. So she is on a chewable tablet. Hope it helps. I feel so bad for her. But everyone commented on how sweet she is.
I was wondering how you were doing @stpete. Glad you're seeing BD again so soon.
DD has a Tgiving program today and I know I'm going to die of the cute. Can't wait to see her happy little turkey face. Therapy this afternoon. And since I didn't look too hard to find a date for tonight, I think I'm taking myself to dinner and a movie.
It is a busy and intense weekend for me. It does not feel like Friday because I will be working most of the weekend. BF and I will get together on Saturday night but I will have to be up early the next day. He is going out of town for Thanksgiving so we won't be spending much time together until after the holiday. I will be happy when I am on the other side of this work.
I had a dream I was at a bar with a bunch of people and WG got up and sang karaoke--he was good. It was weird and awesome all at once.
DS#2 snuggled the crap out of me this morning. I got a little weepy because soon he's going to be too old to want to snuggle so much. His snuggles are the best.
I bet you can all guess what I'm going to say, lol. School is closed, work is open. I called in and said I'll likely not be in unless I can find a sitter. I'm debating taking them to my mom's and going I versus staying home all day with them again.
I just had therapy and I have plans with a friend at noon. I'm pretty sure we are meeting to have sex and I'm totally okay with that. Then I will pick up S and snuggle her and play for the rest of the day. Totally awesome. Just waiting for that job offer...

When Thor's cat got fleas (right before we moved in together!!!), Frontline wasn't helpful for us, which was really frustrating. What worked was a pill that killed all the live fleas on her, and then we gave her a bath using Dawn to get out all the eggs. I hope that's the pill your vet gave your dog! Try a bath with Dawn. And have a friend to help. That shit is slippery.
I've heard that the flea collars and powders don't do much to kill the fleas, but that they can really irritate your pet's skin, so that's probably compounding your pup's itching.
I tried to drink wine when I got home yesterday because I was so stressed out and it tasted awful because of my cold. I ended up taking nighttime alka seltzer and passing out. Win for me.
P has been asking to see his dad nonstop now and I don't even know what to say. He didn't want to go to sleep last night because he was yelling about seeing him. It makes me feel horrible.
Also, this week has kicked my ass. This cold has kicked my ass. I'm so glad it's the weekend, though it's looking busier than i'd like. All fun stuff, but I just want to hibernate.

I hope it all gets resolved soon!
Thanks I have my brother to help. The vet said that Frontline isn't really working anymore because fleas are getting an immunity to it, and they haven't changed the formula to combat it. The tablet worked in the past, so I'm hoping. It is a heartworm and flea med in one. Luckily she was negative for the heartworm. I think the pill is Trifexis.

I wish I could remember the name of the pill we used, but it was a few years ago now. Google tells me it's Capstar, but that doesn't ring any bells. If your current method doesn't work, ask your vet about it!

I'm still plugging away at my paper. Should be done with the first final draft here within the hour and then it gets sent out to to a few friends for review. I met with the writing tutor last night and he was extremely helpful! I need to get rid of my prepositions, but everything else seemed to flow and looked good.

I don't use chemicals on my pets and I haven't had any problems since I started using it year ago. Mine are never on conventional flea preventatives as I don't like administering pesticides on them, especially since they were in renal failure (due to the dog food recalls back in 2007). The chemicals in those things are very hard on the animals' bodies and I don't want to stress the kidneys anymore than necessary. www.earthworkshealth.com/pets-animals.php
I'm on the metro, heading to work. This week seemed so long, glad Friday is finally here. No plans tonight. I will drink wine and fall asleep watching Shark Tank. If I can stay up that long.
I have a 1st date tomorrow. We're going bowling. I'm usually not excited about 1st dates, but for this one I am! Sunday is a 3rd date with a guy. We'll be shopping for xmas decorations and I'll help him decorate his place.
I have to do laundry sometime this weekend in a bad way! Laundry is my most hated chore. I don't wanna do it.

If you have carpet, vacuum, vacuum, vacuum! Wash the dog's bed weekly along with your sheets. Fleas breed in these places.
I would also give the dog some cold pressed, unrefined coconut oil. Her skin may be dried out from the baths and topical pesticides.
Thanks! I'll give this a try.
Eta: I know part of the problem is the stray cats next door. We did not have this kind of problem until he started leaving food and water out for them. They now live under his shed, and were living under mine too.
I had an interview for a job I really wanted about 2 weeks ago, and found out yesterday that I did NOT get hired. I was apparently close, and they'd like to add a second position and hire me (without even needing another interview process). But there are no guarantees that will happen and if it does, it could be months (or longer). I am really bummed out about it. I knew it was possible that I wouldn't get the job so I tried not to get my hopes up, but it felt like my one shot at getting something BETTER out of losing my old job. Nothing else I've seen or applied for seems to be as good of a fit or have the perks this job had - great benefits, really close to home, interesting work, etc.
