I'm going to AW. After about a month, this finally came in! It's huge and a hardcover and awesome. I'm going to cling to this and maybe the day and weekend will start looking up.

I need to know what all of these places are to see of my memories from Duquesne match up.
We have Thanksgiving with the ILs tomorrow. Whee. At least I can drink.
work related - do people not look at outlook calendars when scheduling meetings? I mean honestly. I get this email saying "Hey, can we move this meeting?" "Sure, no problem. It looks like 3pm on Monday works for everyone." Except 3pm on Monday I am in another meeting and my calendar is CLEARLY blocked off. WTH?
Mad Mex for happy hour big azz margaritas, hemmingways for dollar beers and spinach dip and then...PHI. But no more PHI.
In college the next step after that was to go play beer pong at our friend's house in squirrel hill till the sun came up. We'll instead be substituting our normal Saturday night activities and going to shady side. Docs used to be our favorite there, but that also closed. So probably William Penn. Or that one over on ellsworth with the bacon? My friends will want to go to Shady Grove but MH HATED that place and I wasn't a huge fan either so hopefully we can avoid that.
Hemmingways is the one where we will be BY FAR the oldest people there. I'm not sure how long we're going to want to stay, but I want to at least stop there for the nostalgia. Also I imagine beer is not a dollar anymore.
Just booked an interview for the promotion I applied for 2 wks ago. SQUUEEEEEE!
Now what the heck am I going to wear?!? (My current job is pretty casual and it's been 7yrs since my last interview, so definitely shopping)
Congrats!
TJMaxx, Marshalls, Ross and Burlington are good places to get suits for a good price. Macy's is as well. I like that Macy's and Burlington has suit separates, so you can buy the pieces that work best for you. JCP also has good prices.

Our healthcare system is broken. I finally have an MRI appt...for next Fri. That's how long it takes to get approval from the insurance company. Approval for a test my doctor has determined is medically necessary to figure out the best course of treatment. Of course, if they get the insurance approval before then they'll get me in sooner. I want to tell my doc we should proceed as if it is torn and move on. Fuck the insurance company standing in the way of my life. I'm pretty sure I have a piece if equipment somewhere around here that'll do the same thing.

ETA: I'm crankier today than yesterday.
Nooooooooooooooooooooo! What does this mean for your race?

I will be walking it. Which will be very, very, uncomfortable but doable. If it was any other race I would skip but this is year two of a five year challenge.

I've been completely unproductive at work today. Right now I am watching beginner knitting and crochet videos to try and figure out which I want to attempt. Either way I see a lot of cursing, and possibly throwing things, in my future.

PHI CLOSED?! Aww, maaaaaaaaaaaaaan.
Reporting back - Mad Mex hasn't changed a bit. Identical menu, still good margaritas. I somehow managed to not get smashed, despite drinking 2 of them plus a beer. The fact that I ate my tacos plus one of my friend's tacos may have had something to do with that.
Hemmingways has a totally different bar menu which includes a bunch of weird brightly colored "shot pitchers", but yeungling pitchers are only $6 so that still works. We were in fact the oldest people there by a mile, and we sat in the back and played a few rounds of asshole so we FELT like we were still 22.
Stopped at PHI for a moment of silence.
Then went to William Penn in Shady Side which was in fact even MORE crowded than we remembered. Again sat in the back.
Left there and discovered Village Pizza was gone. Found another late night pizza place and got two terrible pizzas and took them back to our hotel to eat.
Then spent most of Saturday laying around being painfully painfully hungover (ate breakfast at 1 PM at the crepe place) and watching Super Troopers and Office Space. Shady Side Inn and Suites is fantastic for a weekend like this (or traveling with kids too....) because all the suites are full on apartments. It was really nice having a living room and a TV and a kitchen and people who wanted to keep sleeping were just in their bedrooms.
So basically - the most accurate college reunion weekend EVER.
(then had grownup Saturday night and went to dinner at Nola at Market Square downtown. Which was crazy - there are actual people downtown after dark now! And Nola was fantastic. Highly recommend.)
