I am sounding the alarm. I have an old stove emergency!
Our wall oven has a broken heating element:
Please don't judge how dirty it is - H is doing the cooking at the moment and he doesn't clean it. Like ever.
Anyways, this damn thing was apparently produced in the 1960s and is a General Electric P7 Self-Cleaning Oven. Can I find a replacement heating element that will fit this just anywhere or do I need to go someplace special? I can't replace it both because it's 23" and basically special order and because we were PLANNING on redoing the kitchen in the next few years so that we can get a regular stove to change this wall oven to storage because we have very little.
Look on Amazon. I know you can get the regular one because my mom has an even older GE wall oven than yours but she has a regular, not self cleaning oven.
No help on the element but just commiserating on having a non-standard for today oven.
demandypants We have a double wall oven (circa 1973) and they are small like yours (with one smaller than the other) :/. We call them the EZ Bake oven and the Barbie oven since standard size cookie sheets don't fit.

lol, I call mine a barbie oven too! It runs hot too, so I have to adjust the temp for everything. And burning the bottoms of cookies has become a chronic issue because the element is on the bottom and the heat is really unevenly distributed. But while it works, I will make do! I should probably start saving for the dream range to replace it too

With ours the issue is that the doors don't seal fully so the back is much hotter than the front. I have to turn anything we bake at least twice per cooking session.

@juno, I fixed the pic. Not sure what the hell happened to it!
TBM, thanks! My H is searching around from work and he's showing the pic to his dad (our handyman lol) to see if there's anything he can think of. He found one similar, so there's some hope I guess!
nomad100 & demandypants, if I find a resource, I'll share it! This thing has run well up until about 2-3 weeks ago and my H complained it was taking forever to heat up. I noticed it this morning making cinnamon rolls. One day, I'll have a regular size oven and I'll be able to use my pizza stone again!
