1. We had school conferences this week and both kids are doing incredibly well. We're very pleased they are doing well academically (P tested 2 years ahead in math!) but even more so at how the teachers described their behavior. According to their teachers they both are very well behaved, listen and participate, and are kind to other students.
2. I have a great group of friends. Both ones I've know for 20+ years and ones I've only known for a few years. It really struck home last weekend. I was out with some friends I've known for almost 20 years (some more than that) to rally for another friend going through a hard time. While out I got a text that a newer friend's 3-year old son was at Harborview. Everyone rallied around them as well to help with their older daughter, their dog, and other commitments. Thankfully their son is home with only a minor fracture and mild concussion.
3. Tonight is family movie night at our local community center (which is basically an old house). I think I've mentioned it before, but the kids go in their jammies and bring sleeping bags while the adults hang out in the back and drink wine. It's only a few blocks away and a really nice community event.
4. It's snowing in Whistler!! We head up Wednesday and they should get close to 2' before then.
5. My boss took me out to lunch on Wednesday and told me he was very happy with the work I've been doing since I started last April. I've felt a bit over my head at times so it was a definite confidence boost to hear that.
