I hope no one takes this as a bragplaint; I'm legitimately starting to worry that there may be something wrong with the baby. DD3 is 5 months. She usually takes two or three 3 hour naps a day and then goes down for the night. She usually only wakes once or twice at night, eats, and goes right back to sleep. Is this much sleep normal for her age?
DD1 was a horrible napper until she was two and, while DD2 napped relatively well, I don't recall her sleeping this much.
We've been passing viral infections back and forth in our house since the start of the school year and there have been two times where her lymph nodes were enlarged even though she didn't have a fever. When she's awake she acts pretty content but I'm wondering if there may be something else going on.
I haven't really kept track of how much total sleep she's getting. It feels like she's asleep most of the day. Her awake periods are usually only about 1.5 hours at a time, if that.
She hasn't been weighed since her 4 month appt but the pedi didn't seem to have any concerns. She was in the 6th percentile for weight.

L is 5.5 months, and is just starting to wake up for longer periods of time. Until maybe a week or so ago, the longest she would be awake was 1.5 hours. She didn't always nap for two hours, but it wasn't uncommon for her to take two two-hour and one one-hour nap, and be ready for bed at 5:30 or 6. With only a couple wakeups overnight. She was NOT like this as a newborn, lol.
I think there's a wide range of "normal," but if you're concerned, I would log it for a few days, and if I were still concerned, I would run it by my pedi.
I don't know the answer but I was thinking about posting something similar. My DS is nearly 6 months and he sleeps from 5:30pm -7am (with 2 wake ups). Then a nap every 2 hours although they are typically only 30-45min with maybe one 1.5hr nap. He sleeps about 16-18 hrs a day. That seems like a lot but I figure it must be what he needs because he is a fairly happy child the rest of the time.
