That's a newborn for you! Eats, poops, sleeps, rinse and repeat. In a couple of days when they wake up and then cry more and more you will miss the sleepyness stage.
My first son was like that. I swear for the first 4 months of his life all he did was sleep. My second one has been a lot more awake from the start. I am not always sure what to do with him when he is awake so we look at lights a lot. He likes lights.
Mine likes to be awake so far, but last night was also our first night home so it may improve...so far she doesn't like to be put down either and always wants to be held

Aww I am sorry about her not wanting to be put down. I am very grateful that L does not mind his swing or rock n play.. now this weekend may ruin it because family keep coming and no one wants to put him down.
