I make oatmeal pancakes. I use oat flour (put oat in the Cuisinart for a few seconds) but I'm sure you could probably use regular oats. Mix the oats with milk, add an egg, and cook them like pancakes. DD can feed them to herself and it doesn't make a mess. I make a big batch and keep them in the fridge.

PERFECT i will try this. Mornings are hectic and stressful enough, this sounds like the fastest and least messy option Thank you!
My kids love oatmeal. I cook quick oats with milk in the microwave and then add a mashed banana and some cinnamon. It doesn't end up in my 15 month old's hair any more than any other food he eats.
For another oatmeal pancake idea, I mix 1 cup oats, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 6 egg whites (or 4 whole eggs), 1 ripe banana, and some cinnamon in a blender, then cook like regular pancakes. I like them because they're a complete meal (whole grains + protein + fruit), and they can be made ahead (my kids will even eat them cold).

Thanks for the oatmeal pancake ideas! Weekday mornings are so tough - I stick to really non messy foods like pouches, fruit and and frozen waffles. Nothing with a spoon lol - just no time to clean him up. I think he would love those!

I make steel cut oats ahead of time. When they are refrigerated for a day, they kind of bulk up and then I can just put it on her tray (slightly warmed) and she eats it like little oatmeal nuggets. It's awesome.
All of my kids have been eating oatmeal since they were 12 months probably. They love it. I usually start them with oatmeal mixed with frozen blueberries and yogurt in it. Messy, but messes don't bother me. It's easy enough just to give them a wipe down with a rag and the table and go.

I also make oatmeal pancakes. Ds1 doesn't like straight oatmeal but he'll eat just about anything I can make look like pancakes.. Your other option is to shave your kid bald
