After my pity party last night I am feeling better about this whole kid and being a functioning adult thing.
H is home from the office, my call got xld, got a good workout in while M had a blast at the gym daycare ( seriously love that place), got stuffed prepped for dinner tonight with our friends and now I am sitting on the couch hoping he sleeps for a little bit longer so I can quickly grade some assignments so I don't have to do it tonight.
I won't mention the shitton of leaves that need to be raked :-(. I will just ignore them.

I have a whiny, first world problem. This is our first Christmas in this house. I was so excited when we moved in because there's a fireplace and room for the Christmas tree by the fireplace. Just like I've always wanted!
Fast forward to now. I realize my cats are assholes and will eat the tree and puke it back up all holiday season, and pull ornaments down and chew on the hooks. So...the tree has to go in the basement living room. Sad trombone.
And A only napped for an hour today. Life is hard, guys.
There's a woman on a FB group where moms sell their stuff that is selling board books (USED) at like $2-3 each, lol. She has 31 posted in total (in sets of different sizes) and want $70 for them all. I want to offer her $30 for the lot, a buck a book, but I feel like an ass doing it.
DS2 is almost old enough for childcare at the Y, so we're headed there to take my membership off medical hold! Leaving my 8 week old in childcare is okay, right? The promise of a break from both kids during the day is making me want to throw caution to the wind.
yes, DS went to the Y childcare at 6w exactly and was just fine. enjoy!
Ds had his thumb shut in a door at daycare in mid October. Today his thumbnail fell off. Dh casually came up to me and said here I have something for you, and dropped the nail into my hands.
Just got back from the ER with DD. She slipped on the hardwoods and landed on the corner of the bottom step...directly on her chin. Two sutures and we're home. I was a nauseous mess every time I looked at her...I'm such a weakling when it comes to blood! So impressed with the care we received. We were in and out in under 90 mins and 30 of them were us waiting for the numbing gel to take effect. The gave her coloring stuff to pass the time. And they couldn't find stickers, so they decorated her with fun bandaids. DD gave the PA and huge hug before we left.

I don't think I left DS1 with anyone non-family until he was at least 6 months, but I also didn't have any free childcare options at the time. I'm so excited to go for a run and take a peaceful shower after that I barely feel any hesitation this time around. Gotta love second time mom confidence!
Costco plus a quick grocery stop was too much for E. She was definitely testing us today. I got so frustrated and DH was like ok we all need a time out here. Thankfully after lunch she was being adorable and then went down for her nap easily.
Just took pumpkin cheesecake bread out of the oven and put butternut squash in to roast.

My husband, who has an advanced degree and bills people insane amounts of money for his brain, is legit struggling to do a 24 piece puzzle with our 2 year old. He is so bad at them. It's hilarious.
niq what about cords? H doesn't even wear jeans on casual Friday because he's crazy so I don't have a whole lot to go on but in general I find cords more comfortable than jeans.
Is there a yoga pant equivalent for men? "Good" track pants? I'll check with H.

I am getting this on a near-daily basis too. In fact right now I am sitting on the toilet (clothed, on top of the lid, and not going to the bathroom, don't worry!) because I got woozy while putting on makeup. I have high BP and high sugar levels most of the time so I assume they are just dipping and my body is not used to that.
Something about putting on mascara makes me feel like passing out every time. I don't know if I'm holding my breath unintentionally or what. I have to sit down to apply now. Pregnancy is weird.
(I also have a bad habit of going upstairs and immediately brushing my teeth. Then I'm all OMG can't breath because stairs leave me super winded now.)
